Chapter 15: Little Things

Ryder's POV

I knew it was Jas coming to my door before she could even knock. I can smell her amazing scent.

"Come in, Jas." She peaked her head in

"How did you know it was me?"

I shrugged. "Wild guess."

She walked in all the way, closing the door behind her. Curiously she walked around the room taking it in. I smiled to myself because of show cute she is. She looks like a child looking around a room she never knew existed.

"So this is where you do all your family business stuff?"

"What do you mean?"

"Your mom. When I asked her where you were so I could tell you to come down for breakfast, she said you'd be in your office working on family business stuff."

"Oh yeah this used to be my dad's office but as you know, he passed it down to me." I watched her as she looked at all the books on the shelves. I hope she didn't open any because most are werewolf related. She finally scanned the whole room then stopped in front of my desk.

"So what are you doing now?" She asked curiously. She looks so cute and small compared to the large desk in front of her.

"Come here." I said smiling rolling the chair out from the desk and gesturing to my lap. She smiled before walking around the desk and sitting on my lap.

I tried to think of a way to word the situation without using werewolves.

"Well my dad just figured out we have people wanting to find a way to take away our business," our territory, "and make it their's but that can't happen. So I had to contact these people," I pulled out a list of all the runners we have in the pack who's job it is to circle the perimeter of our territory and make sure no one gets through, "because they're really good at making sure the people trying to take our business don't get through to the information they need," past the boarders.

"What happens if someone gets through?" She asked turning a little to look at me. I'm glad she's interested. Situations like this are things I hope I can get her advice on later as a Luna.

"They come and tell me then I decide what the next move is."

"Wow so you're really the head of all of this?"

I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Mhm."

"You know, a man in charge is kind of hot." She bit her lip right after she said it and a blush formed on her face. I could tell it just came out and she's slightly embarrassed.

I smirked trailing my hands up and down her sides. I leaned up and began leaving light kisses on her neck.

"I-I actually just came up to get you for breakfast. S-so we should go." She stuttered. Here I am making her nervous yet an hour ago she was moaning out my name. Cute.

"Alright up you go." I picked her up and set her on the floor once again. I wrapped my arm around her waist and led her back downstairs.

We got downstairs and Jasmine was about to sit in the chair next to mine when I pulled her down to sit on my lap.

She blushed. "Ryder," she whispered, "I can sit in my own chair."

"That wouldn't be as fun." I kissed her cheek.

"Everyone's watching us." She said under her breath. I looked around and realized a lot of people are watching us with smiles on their faces. They're almost as happy I found my mate as I am...almost.
