Ryder's POV

I straightened my tie and took a deep breath before I rang the doorbell to Jasmine's house. It's finally the night of the winter ball and I hope to make it one of the best nights Jasmine has spent with me. This is the first year I'm actually going with someone. With my mate. I can't be more thankful I have her in my life. After all, an Alpha needs his Luna.

Mrs. Lopez opened the door with a smile on her face. "Ryder, good to see you again." She wrapped me into a hug.

"You too, Mrs. Lopez."

"Mom! Ryder should be here any second," my head immediately turned to the steps when I heard her voice. She's looking down at the stairs making sure she doesn't step on her dress, "Do you remember where I put his boutonnière?"

"Wow." I thought I whispered it to myself but I guess not because she looked up.

"Ryd," she smiled. "Hi. I didn't even hear the doorbell ring."

"You're gorgeous. You look amazing, Jas." The dress fits her perfectly showing off her body figure. The color looks amazing on her complimenting her naturally tanned skin. Her hair is up showing off the dress and it helps me see her beautiful face even more.

"Thank you," she whispered with a big smile on her face. I'm happy I can be the source of that smile. "You look very handsome. Except," she reached up and straightened out my tie while tightening it, "There you go."

"I'm gonna go find the boutonnière and get the camera. You guys look wonderful." Her mom spoke with excitement before leaving.

Jasmine smiled up at me. "I would kiss you but I don't want to get lipstick on you." She laughed.

"I don't care, it'll come off. Come here." I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her towards me, placing a kiss on her lips. "That's one of many for the night. After all you did say we would make up for lost time from our date." I smiled.

She nodded with a small laugh. "I'll keep my word."

Mrs. Lopez made us take a bunch of pictures after Jasmine put on my boutonnière and I put on her corsage. We stopped at my house to take more pictures with everyone else, the girls said it was mandatory, then we all made our way to the venue the ball is being held at.

I opened Jasmine's door for her and immediately took her hand in mine. We walked inside the building and I smiled seeing the look of joy on my mate's face.

"This is beautiful." She looked around taking everything in. The place is decorated extremely nicely as it usually is. They turn a normal place into something extravagant.

"This is the stuff the winter ball committee does guys!" Lauren began to yell to everyone in the room, "So give credit where credit is due. Thank you!" She smiled in satisfactory.

"And this is what I have to deal with!" Brad playfully yelled in the same level pointing to Lauren.

The night is going well. We're all having such a great time, me included. I'm so used to not having a nice time because I never had a mate to come with. Throughout the dancing, the eating, the talking, and everything else I think I'm having an amazing time because I can tell Jasmine is. The smile on her face makes me smile. She makes me smile.

The mate bond is getting stronger, I can tell. I want to constantly be with her, her skin touching mine. Simply having her company is enough for me. My wolf has become a lot more content, less sad than he was before finding Jasmine. There's also a difference in the way she acts. If I don't make a move, she will. If we get separated for awhile, she comes to find me. The pull is getting stronger.
