Jasmine's POV

There's something about today. Maybe it's the fact that my mom made my favorite breakfast. Maybe it's the wonderful smell of tea, hot chocolate, and coffee in the morning. Maybe it's because the sun is shining so brightly through my curtains, even though it's winter. Or maybe it's the fact that Ryder and I kissed last night...yeah that's it. Butterflies spread their wings in my stomach every time I think about it...every time I think about him. I covered my face to hide the blush no one is even here to see. I can't help it, there was just so much about that kiss. The way his strong arms wrapped around my waist pulling my body into his, warming me up from head to toe. How his touch and lips combined somehow made my legs weak, causing him to hold me tighter supporting me. The contrast between the softness of his lips and the strength in his hold.

I miss him. I can't believe I miss him. I just spent the whole night with him, but I can't help it...I need him. This shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't want to be with him constantly, or want some part of his body to always be touching mine. That kiss was like getting something you've always wanted, then being ripped away from it. Now that I got the kiss, I didn't want it to ever stop.

I feel like there's a pull between us. When I'm in the same room as him, I want to be closer. When I'm sitting near him, I want to be sitting next to him. It's nothing I've ever felt before and I hate myself for using this word as a descriptor, but it seems magical.

I like you, Jasmine.

I could not stop thinking about it. It seemed like my heart skipped not only one, but two, beats when he said it. With the amount of times he's made my heart skip a beat, I'm surprised it's still working properly. He likes me. He actually likes me back.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard my phone ringing on my nightstand. I grabbed it and my heart skipped a beat, once again, when I saw the name.

Ryder

I smiled and answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hi." He said on the other line.

"I was just think-" I started but quickly stopped myself.

"What?"

"Nevermind, it's nothing." I said trying to sound believable.

"Jasmine." Maybe it's because I love the way my name sounds coming from his lips, or because he genuinely sounded like he actually wanted to know what I was going to say, but I gave in.

I took a deep breath, "I was going to say I was just thinking about you." I quickly closed my eyes preparing for the worst.

"I've been thinking about you all morning and finally decided I needed to talk to you." A large smile appeared on my face, bringing rosy cheeks to match.

"Jas, I can practically feel you blushing through the phone." He teased. Jas...Jas. I love it. I replayed him saying it in my mind.

"Jasmine?"

"Oh! Sorry! I'm here."

He laughed, "It's ok. Do you wanted to come over tonight? Everyone else is coming and we're gonna hang out and watch movies. I would love if you could make it."

"Yeah of course!" I said a bit too quickly. I couldn't help it. I want to spend time with him.

"Great," he paused, "I'm sorry. I've got to run, family stuff I have to handle. So I'll see you later?"

I nodded naturally even though he couldn't see me. "Yeah. Wouldn't miss it."

"Ok...can't wait to see you." Oh god he's trying to kill me with cuteness I swear.

"You too, Ryd." Ryd? What. Great he's gonna laugh.

"Ryd?" He said and I knew it was joined with that teasing smile.

"Sorry, uh," I stuttered on my words, "It kinda just came out. I won't call you that if-"

"No I like it when you say it."

I smiled, "Oh ok...Jas is good too by the way." I teased.

He breathed out, "Thank goodness. I said it and I was scared you would hate it."

I laughed, "I like it."

"I'm glad...I'm sorry I really have to go, I'll see you later. Bye, Jas."

"Bye, Ryd."

I laid back into bed, a smile still on my face. Ryd and Jas.
