In Love With The Enemy

Chapter 39- Fire's decision

FreeFire stopped outside her kingdom's walls. After the long trek back home, she had finally arrived. A smile settled on her face before she wiped it clean, remembering that she came back minus a leader. Some things just have to be done she thought.

Sighing to herself, she started clambering up the wall. She reached the top and jumped down into the other side, into her kingdom. She spotted a guard and walked over to him. "Hello" She said simply.

The guard jumped and turned to look at the leader. "Oh my goodness you've come home! Let me take you to your throne room at once." The guard said. Fire nodded her head and followed the guard back to her's and wonder's- just her castle.

"Thank you. Mind fetching EnderLillie, Yasdoesyoutube and Pipgoesmiow for me please, if they ask who sent for them, don't tell them it is me, don't tell them that I have returned home." Fire said kindly. The guard was shocked but nodded his head and set off to find the three that Fire requested.

"This is perfect" Hasliescores said to her friend, NetherGreen. "We have them seperated. Now we can do stuff on fires behalf and make them think it was her." She laughed evily.

"Haslie, in all due respect, I think it would be best to not with the connections between Firenote and Sky kingdom for now, considering they can just return and take her back to the castle once more" Nethergreen spoke up, feeling somewhat bad for her old best friend. She couldn't help but wonder if it was her disappearance that partly made Fire run from Sky Kingdom when she was younger in the first place.

"Don't be such a wimp Nether. But I understand were you're coming from." Haslie said, glancing over at the lake that was infront of them.

Pipgoesmiow, Yasdoesyoutube and EnderLillie stood outside the throne room. They pushed open the doors and entered the near dark room. There was a dark figure standing at the end of the rather large room. All three girls shared a look of confusion when the doors closed behind them and the lights suddenly came on. The figure turned around and looked down at her three 'friends'.

"FIRE!" They all yelled and ran up to hug the leader. It was then that they hesitated, remembering her powers and her frigid behaviour. She opened up her arms and they continued to run to her, like a baby duckling to its mother.

She gave them all a welcoming hug and then took a few steps backwards to seperate herself from them. "I have returned home." She smirked.

"Yes now everything can go back to the way it was!" Pip exclaimed. She looked around the room waiting for her fellow friend Wonderstyle to pop out at any given moment. "Where's wonder?" She asked.

The smirk slided straight of the fire girls face and hit the ground with a non existent thud. "She's not coming back" Fire muttered. She turned her back to the girls and looked over at a picture of her and her friend from when they first started their armies.

"S-shes not dead is she? They didn't kill her did they?" Yas gasped. Fire shook her head and let a tear roll silently down her face before she wiped it away and turned back to the girls.

"No. We had the options today to either stay or leave. I chose to leave, she chose to stay behind with the enemy" Fire concluded sadly. "She's not part of the Firenote leaders anymore and now I need the help from you three."

Lillie, Yas and Pip all shared a glance before nodding their heads in unison. "I need you three to be generals of the Firenote Kingdom." They all gasped quietly. From the word go, Fire had been dead set in her decison that the Firenote Kingdom would not have any generals and everyone knew that.

But Fire decided that it was time for a change. Since they had lost a leader and wasnt going to gain her back, she decided that maybe it was time to give having Generals a go. Wonder's not going to come back, and even if she does, she betrayed us in some sort of way, so I'm not going to let her back in, even if she decides to leave with her army, us Fireflys will reign strong Fire thought, making her mind up once and for all... well so she thought.

Wonderstyle paced the room she still shared with Mitch anxiously. What was going to happen now? What if she decided to leave, not that she ever would, and go back to her kingdom with Fire and her friends? Please good god why does this have to be so difficult? Wonder thought. She had been repeating the same sentence in her head for the past 30 minutes but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get her questions to leave her head.

Mitch entered his room to see his girlfriend pacing the floor worriedly. "Stop worrying over Fire and her choices" He said as he closed the door gently.

Wonder jumped at the sound of his voice and sat down on Mitch's bed. Mitch came and sat down next to her, taking her hand in his. "I know I shouldn't worry about her. But I can't help but wonder what if her decisions get her harmed in the future?" She mumbled quietly.

He shook his head slowly at his girlfriend and looked at her in the eyes. "Trust me when I say this alright?" She nodded her head and Mitch continued. "Nothing is going to happen to her, I promise."

"I guess you're right" Wonder said, smiling a little.

"When am I not?"

The a new question popped into her head and she voiced it aloud. "What if I made the the wrong choice by staying her instead of going home?"

"Remember what you said to us all earlier on? You said you was home, that you felt at home with us." Mitch said softly. Wonder nodded her head and cuddled up next to her boyfriend and let the thoughts escape her head and for someone else to worry about.

But much to Wonder's dismay, that person who was worrying was The Sky army's second in command, General Deadlox himself. He sat in the corner of his room, sad and quiet and with no one to poke fun at him or tell him to shut his mind up, he sat in a big ball of worry.

I let her go didn't I? I let her go and now something feels wrong but  I just don't know or understand what it is... Deadlox sighed and shook his head.

Hours of worrying later, Deadlox had fallen asleep in the corner of his room next to the bookshelves leaving everyone to question where he was when he didn't show up to the beginning of the dinner.
