Chapter 48- Flame Fighter

She saw him then, surrounded by Squids. He was out numbered by many and his one sword couldn't hold them all off at the same time.

Frowning at the Squids, she took off flying towards him, going fast but not at her full speed.

She would be the one to save him. She would be the one to save Deadlox from the Squids.

Deadlox knew he was out numbered, he also knew this would be the end of him. Killed by Squids out on the battle ground. A noble way to go he supposed, if his death was not in vain that is. Turning around to  the block an attack from one Squid, he failed to notice the second attack coming in from his right until there could be little done about it.

He threw the other Squid away quickly and went to block the blow, but he wasn't fast enough. He closed his eyes tightly waiting for death. The clashing sound of metal rang in his ears and he opened his eyes again, surprised to see a purple haired girl holding off the sword with her own.

"Leave him alone!" She screamed and kicked the squid in the chest, knocking it away with an absurd amount of power. She stood there panting for breath before turning around to face the shocked boy. "Hey... It's all right now, the Squid is gone. But as for the others..."

She was almost as quick as lighting, flashing around to the squids in the nearby vicinity and slashing at them with her sword. She returned back to his side and smiled widely, admiring her work.

"H-How did you even get to me in time? How d-did you know I was in trouble?" He questioned, desperately trying to understand how.

"Well I have these things called wings, they make you fly, yeah? So I finally figured out how to use them and started flying and then i saw you and saw things weren't going so well" Fire explained, whipping around and killing a Squid approaching from behind.

She stood there panting, squid blood tainting her sword and splattered over her face. Deadlox couldn't believe that she had managed to save him, because he thought that she thought they were still the enemy.

But they weren't. No, not anymore. Strange feelings had been bubbling up inside of Fire, and although she'd hate to admit it, she didn't view Sky Kingdom all that badly anymore.

"Crap! Crap! Crap crap crap crap crap crap!" A voice furiously yelled in the distance.

Deadlox looked around, trying to locate where the yelling had come from. "Who do you think that was?" He questioned Fire as they continued to fight squids together.

For Ty, the feelings just got stranger and stranger, bubbling up so much until they nearly overflowed. She was unlike any other girl he had met before. There was something about her that no one else had in his opinion.

"I don't know. But we should go and check" She replied. Wrapping her arms around Deadlox's waist quickly, she spread her wings and smirked.

"W-what are you doing?"

"You'll see" She laughed and shot up from the ground, flying into the air with Ty in her arms.

Sky looked down at his broken sword in desperation. He had forgotten to grab a fresh butter sword and had taken his worn out one into the battle field. And now it had broke on him.

The squids noticed this and took it as an opportunity to close in around him.

A winged creature landed in front of him, it's wings wrapped around something. The wings spread out and Sky caught a glimpse of purple hair. "Heya!" It said happily as it turned around.

There stood Fire with Deadlox standing next to her. "Missed me?" She asked with a smirk, taking notice of the broken hilt in his hand. "Eh, anyway's let's sort out these squids and your situation. Deadlox do you have a spare Butter sword?"

Deadlox nodded his head and pulled it out of his spare sheath and handed it to Fire. She gave it to Sky and then held out her own see-through sword to Deadlox.

He looked at her confused. Why would she just give him the only weapon she had? He couldn't figure it out, she only had the one sword and wasn't carrying any spares.

"Take it. This is sword is a lot more useful then your current one. Trust me, I have a knack for finding extremely rare items" She held the sword closer to him, waiting for him to take it from her.

He reluctently grabbed the hilt of the sword and held it in his hand. The sword was a lot heaver then his own Diamond one. "You take mine then."

Deadlox pulled the diamond sword from his sheath and threw it at her feet. Fire bent over and picked it up, holding it with one hand before slipping it inside of her sheath.

"It's not just a heavy sword" She started. She clicked her fingers and the see-through blade turned in to Lava within the blade itself. "This makes the blade extremely hot, effectively melting the insides of whoever you stab it through. However that's not the only thing it can do" She explained. The girl clicked her fingers once more, the outside of the blade going up in flames.

Deadlox and Sky were in awe. They had never seen a blade such as the one in front of them before.

"The flames won't go out unless I tell them to and if I do tell them to, it's probably a warning or a signal. I'll leave it up to you to decide what it is when you cross that bridge" Fire turned her back to them, looking out across the field. "After all you've put me through, you think I dispise you, but in the end I wanna thank you because you've made me that much stronger. Because if it wasn't for that you tried to do, I wouldn't know just how capable I am so I want to say thank you. 'Cause you've made me that much stronger, makes me work a little bit harder, makes me that much wiser, so thanks for making me a fighter."

She walked off, leaving the two standing alone to fend of the squids. Ender Kitty appeared next to her and Fire spread her wings and shot up in to the sky, the kitten flapping its wings and shooting off after her.
