In Love With The Enemy

Chapter 20- Explanation

Fire sat up panting heavily. It was all a dream, just a dream. She couldn't believe that she had a dream about a dream, not to mention in the last part Deadlox had told her that he loved her.

Like that was ever going to happen.

She sat up and swung her legs of the bed, staring off into the distance of the room. It was unfamiliar yet had a certain feeling to it. Like she felt comfortable in it. She couldn't understand why she didn't know where she was, last time she woke up in an unfamiliar place, she instantly knew where she was... but last time in was in Sky Kingdom's castles Jails.

Fire was so caught up in trying to figure out where she was, that she didn't notice the tears running down her face. And she also nearly didn't notice the figure standing in the doorway.

"Fire?" It asked. Their voice was smooth and full of concern. They walked into the room, approaching the girl sitting on the bed at a quick pace.

She flinched back as they sat on the bed next to her, covered her face with her arms and closed her eyes, trying to inch herself away from them.

"It's just me" They said. Fire opened her eyes and moved her arms away from her face to see Deadlox sitting next to her.

"Oh" She gasped as she sat up straight. "Where am I?" She asked him.

His mouth twitched into a small smile. "Sky Kingdom, you fell asleep straight after we arrived" Deadlox said.

"Oh" She repeated. She looked down at the floor watching as she shifted her feet around uncertainly.

"So what was going on in that head of yours whilst you were asleep?"

Fire looked up, curious to why he would ask. "Why?"

"Because when I came in you were crying" Deadlox said, his voice full of concern for the fire wielder.

"Oh right. Okay" Fire said looking away again. She explained what happened in her dream, leaving out the part where he had told her he loved her. And by the end of it, she was in tears again.

"It's alright Fire" Deadlox comforted putting his hand on her shoulder, only for her to flinch away from him.

"Stop! I don't want to hurt you, I'm a monster" She cried out. "I killed you. In my dream I killed you Deadlox!"

Deadlox was rather taken back by this, she hadn't told him that she killed him, only that he died.

"It's the EnderFire I won't be able to control it, I cant control it" She sobbed, covering her face with her hands. Fire was showing off to be weak, something that she shouldn't do, and in front of the enemy? Complelty Insane.

"You'll be able to control it, I'll help you" Deadlox said putting his hand on her shoulder, this time she didn't shrug it off or flinch away from contact.

"You don't get it! I'll rip you to shreds and I won't be able to stop myself because the insane, ruthless, bloody killer will take over me!" Fire shouted at him. Her eyes flickered between cyan and red, she was trying to stay calm, well a lot calmer then she actually was and it wasn't working. She didn't want to get mad and angry or there was a possibility that the Sky Castle might not be standing soon after. But if that happened, Wonder could probably fix it with her water powers... if she was even here yet. The pair stood up and Deadlox followed Fire as she paced the room.

Fire kept shouting as Deadlox tryed to calm her down, when suddenly, she stopped. Her hands went up to her head and she gripped it as an insane amount of pain travelled through her head and down the rest of her body.

Fire's eyes, widened and then closed as she collapsed to the ground.

"SETO!" Deadlox yelled quickly. He checked her wrists for a pulse and found a very slow, irregular one. But atleast that was something. Seto would know what to do... and if not him, Jade. But there was that feeling of uncertainty, what if they don't know what to do? What if.... A million and one thoughts coursed through his brain and he nearly didn't see the sorcerer and sorceress, accompanied by General Sky, Mitch and Wonder standing at the foot of the room. "What happened to her?" Jade said standing next to Seto.

Then the unbelievable happened.

Fire started levitating of the ground so she was floating.

Her once cyan eyes, were now completly black, pitch black. Like they had been only once before.

"Oh no" Deadlox muttered as he slowly backed up to the group.

Fire grinned at him creepily, slightly tilting her head to the side and kept floating in the air. A red spark flashed through her eyes and then they went back to black again. It was the EnderFire thing happening again.

"I can feel the cold hand of death

And the end drawing near

I've seen gods of the men

And all of which they fear" Fire smirked, the creepy grin still displayed on her features. Her black eyes not once moving from Deadlox.

She stopped grinning and her eyes went back to normal and she collapsed to the ground from the air. She was out cold, she had been the whole time.

Everyone ran over to her and just looked at Deadlox.

"Seto, when I sent for you the first time, this is what happened to her. Its EnderFire again. Exactly what she didn't want" Deadlox rushed out as everyone looked at the limp form of the fire wielder.

"Sky how close is it to the full moon?" Seto quickly asked Sky not taking his eyes of Fire.

"It's almost two weeks away. Why?"

"Don't you worry Sky, Jade we have just the right amount of time to get her to the only other person we know of like her. We'll leave in a week" Seto decided as Deadlox picked fire up and laid her down on the bed they had sat on, only minutes before.

"Hang on guys. I want an explanation. What the hell is happening to my best friend?!" Wonder near screamed.

Sky took Wonder from the room to give her the Explaination. After that, everyone slowly left after Seto and Jade reassured them that she would be fine. Everyone but Deadlox. He was ordered to stay by her side, since she probably knew him the best considering he looked after her for a week.

But to be honest, Deadlox would have stayed anyway.
