Chapter 45- Prepare

The alarms sounded round through the castle and King Sky shot up in his bed. What was going on? He flung himself out from under the covers and put on his sunglasses, getting dressed and putting his butter sword in its sheath around his waist.

He pushed open his bedroom doors and ran through the castle until he reached the dining room, the set meeting point for when the alarms were set off.

"What's wrong? What's going on?" He questioned as he looked at the worried faces of his comrades. King Sky has now switched into General Sky and placed a hand on his sheath.

"The Kingdom's under attack" Seto informed, straightening his cape. He looked over at his worried girlfriend and took her hand in his.

"Is it FireNote Kingdom?" Sky asked. It wouldn't have suprised him if it was the FireNote's attacking. After all, he did kidnap their leaders and put one of them on a death sentance.

"No. It's something that was a threat far before the FireNotes" Mitch informed him.

Sky's breath hitched in his throat. "No" he said shakily "No, not..."

Deadlox nodded his head. Sadly the castle was under attack from an enemy that been rather dormant up until now.

"The squids are back Sky" Jerome frowned.

"And they've declared war." Wonder appeared after her words did, her figure forming from water that came from thin air. "I've just come back from getting back up and sneaking a peak at how far they're along."

"The results?" Sky questioned, closing his eyes in dread for the answer.

"Backups on it's way. Sadly, so are the squids. They can walk on land and are being led by two humans" WonderStyle holding her breath, waiting for Sky's reaction.

Sky gritted his teeth and stared down at the floor. He didn't know what to feel, what to think, or what to do. The weeks events had proved to be too much and he was at a loss for words.

"General Sky?" Jason said from next to Ssundee and Huskey. Sky looked up, what did he want now? "What do we do?"

"What do you think we should do?" Sky snapped. He took a deep breath and spoke again "WonderStyle, how far away are the squids? And was I correct in hearing you say they were being led by two girls?"

Wonder smiled sadly. "Fortunately for us, the squids are quite a distance away from us, further then FireNote Kingdom but not that far off from it. Yes you was correct in your hearing. I assume you want to know who it was."

"You recoginized them?" Deadlox's eyes widened and his mouth hung open. If Wonder recognised them then this could mean serious trouble.

"Sadly, yes. I believe you, General Sky, and you, General Deadlox, will also recognize these names."

Sky looked over at the water wielder and nodded as of for her to continue as he braced himself for these names. Please tell me my parents weren't brain washed by the squids and that their death was a hoax he pleaded inside his mind, that was the last thing he wanted right now.

Letting out a big sigh, Wonder prepared to say the names, hoping that no one would get angry or fear she was lying to protect her's and FreeFire's Sub-Kingdom.

"They were HaslieScores and NetherGreen of Sky Kingdom."

"No way!" Deadlox exclaimed "That NetherGreen died when she was just a kid, I know so because she used to constantly run around the castle along with a purple haired kid which I know now to be Fire! She died in the Sky Kingdom downfall, what are you on about?"

"I mean it Ty" Wonder said seriously. "Obviously her death was just a hoax and she was working with the squids all along. Have you never heard the phrase 'Knowing royalty has its perks'?" The room fell into silence and only the anxious rapid breaths of the King could be heard.

"What?" Jerome said, breaking the silence. "This has to be some sick joke. The Kingdom's not under attack, the squids can't just walk on the land and the dead don't just start living again."

"I'm afraid it's not Jerome" Sky said quitely. "If there's one thing I know, it would be that I can trust my Kingdom's Subjects and my recruits."

Mitch coughed and muttered Haslie and Nether under his breath, but sky heard anyway.

"Well the majority of them" Sky shot at Mitch.

The tension in the room was unbearable and everybody wanted to leave.

"I'm telling you now Mitch. Everybody in this room, wishes nothing more then this to be a sick joke pulled by some youngsters. But it's not. The Squids have slipped under our radar in the past year, our attention being turned towards the FireNote's and their advancements on our Kingdom and it's peace. If there's one thing we did not expect, it was this. This is wrong, it shouldn't be happening, at least not now. But it seems the squids are more advanced then we believed them to be." Jade said with a sigh.

"We best be preparing" Sky looked up at the room of his fellow friends.

"Preparing for what?" Tyler asked after being silent for that whole thing.

"Prepare for War, Blood, and death. And possibly... The Sky Kingdom's second downfall."
