Ruining Us

NOTICE

Greetings, dearest Ruining Us fans...

Firstly, I apologize profusely for taking a hundred years to upload my chapters for this story. There is a reason, as I will go on to explain.

(god, this sounds like a badly planned speech xD It's completely spontaneous, I assure you, even though it sounds like a bad essay)

So basically, as you may have noticed, I've been having some trouble writing this story and subsequently the chapters are short, far apart and lacking in quality.

You probably wanna know why, too, I guess, as this is old news...so basically, this story is OLD. Like, I started writing Jess and Spencer when I was about 12, maybe 13...so, at least two and a half years ago.

My writing has changed drastically since then...Jess sounded like a ten year old and whined like a freaking bitch in Conflicted Emotions. Spencer was just an arrogant, unlikable prick, and it was all terrible, not planned out and basically just your normal, cliche story written by a pre-pubescent teen who doesn't know the first thing about writing about teens, about high school, about romance, about drama.

So the style of it has changed so drastically that it feels like a different story. When I go to write it I just think how cliche the story is and how I could have done so much better with it if I'd started writing it earlier....

You may disagree with me and say you love Ruining Us and want it to continue and you love Jencer/Spess/whatever name you guys have come up for them, but the fact is, I don't.

There's also the fact that my writing and reading has revolved solely around boyxboy, slash, yaoi, etc, for so long that writing straight romances has lost it's charm (which might sound weird coming from a heterosexual female, but that's how it is). But I'm sure if I had a good enough plot, I could write a boyxgirl romance.

I just don't feel Ruining Us has that potential.

Conflicted Emotions was a starting point, a base to build my writing skills on. It was a beginning, just to test the waters, see what I could do; I've improved a lot since I started writing it. I'm not saying it's shit - I mean, in fear of sounding big-headed - considering that a fair amount of people like it, I don't think it is...but I simply can't write it any more.

I'm really, really sorry. I really wanted to finish it, I really did! I should have just ended it at the end of Conflicted Emotions, because I also dislike sequels quite a lot. I'm a happily-ever-after type person who doesn't want any more shit to happen to the couple...

So, I'm discontinuing Ruining Us. I'll add chapters 1-12 ish, soon after they first got together, to the Conflicted Emotions story group, but I'll still name the chapters Ruining Us, if you see what I mean. I'll give it a suitable ending and that's that.

If you want to know what happened to Jess and Spencer after Spencer left, that is, if you want to know the rest of the RU plot, I can post the summary of the remaining chapters for you to read....

I really apologize deeply. I appreciate all your feedback and comments and awesomeness, I love you guys, I do! Thank you so much for sticking with me through this, and I feel this is a shitty reward for it, but I think a writer needs to know when to stop...

(Oh, and before I started reading boyxboy, I wrote a steamy scene between Spencer and Jess. If anybody has any desire to read that (???) then I'll post it under 'oneshots<3'....)
