The Wolf's Fairy [Hogwarts Setting]

Good Morning!

"I knew he would say that." Soleil said after listening to Elena's encounter with Selwyn. They were sitting in the Hufflepuff common room.

"What do you mean?"

"He was trying to tell you that you're no longer friends." She said simply.

"Why? Because I'm a 'mudblood'?" She asked with a tone of annoyance.

"Elena, if you call yourself that one more time I will shove you down the toilet." Felicia warned her, not looking up from her book.

"Come on now child, surely there are more peaceful ways of teaching her." Soleil said in a mock imitation of Professor Abott, "You might want to consider putting a lizard in her bed."

"Can you guys come back to the point?" Elena said, knowing very well that neither of those things were above them and they would gladly do it at some point.

"No." Said both, together.

"Well, why doesn't he want to be friends with me anymore?"

"Why are you so determined to be his friend?" Felicia asked in a very suspicious tone.

"I-I'm not determined!" She blurted. Yeah, like they would believe you after that stutter.

"Yes, of coarse." Felicia sarcastically said, "and I'm a salamander."

"What are you implying?!" She asked fiercely.

In an actual attempt to come back to the topic, Soleil said,
"You know, I think he meant that he doesn't want you to be attacked by his friends, and maybe even by himself. It's the most he can do now."

"Oh don't give me that nonsense." Elena snapped, "he could've just explained it nicely then."

Soleil and Felicia looked at each other, grinning.

"So..." Felicia started, "you're angry that he wasn't nice?"

"Forget it."

"El, you don't know what these pureblood families are like." Soleil explained, "His older brother Orion's already disowned his family for these prejudices, so his parents are probably going to control him even more rigidly."

"What?" Elena asked, surprised by this news; Selwyn had mentioned his brother many times on the train.

"It was a gossip topic in the slytherin girls dorm; Orion Selwyn had a row with his father at hogwarts weeks ago. His father wanted to take him home before his final year was over, but Orion told him flat out that he didn't even know him."

Elena nodded slowly, thinking. This must have been why he was avoiding association with muggleborns. He already seemed to care very much about what his father thought of him.

She looked at her wristwatch.
"It's late. Get back to your dorms."

"Can I sleep here?" Felicia asked her with puppy dog eyes.

"No! You have homework to do!"

"It's the eagle knocker!" She whined, "it asks stupid questions and I have to give it weird answers."

"That's because you're too dim to get them." Soleil said to her, very seriously.

"Oh please. I said they were stupid, not difficult." She replied. She was offended enough to get up and leave (an incredible feat as usually it took an hour to get her to move).

They left the Hufflepuff common room in the evening.

The next day, they met again infront of the Hufflepuff common room, waiting for Elena.

Although Elena was usually some-what more late than the other two, she was certainly more fresh than them (although when the other two came to life was the time she usually crashed).

"Fel, what were you doing at night?" She asked like a mother.

"I was finishing a comic." She replied while rubbing her eyes and yawning.

"And you?" She asked Soleil, who had eyebags, a very bad mood and her morning glare.

"Doing homework."

"I haven't done any homework." Felicia said, and Elena could feel her being on the verge of falling apart right then and there.

"We'll see what to do. Come on, you need coffee. Both of you." She said, and dragged both bodies by their sleeves.

"I DON'T WANT COFFEEeeee!" Felicia whined, "GIVE ME MORE SLEEeeeeeeP!"

"If you don't shut up I will slap you Fel." Soleil snarled.

She did not make another sound.

Since they had to sit according to their houses, Elena eventually had to be seperated from the two. Soleil quietly sat down with the slytherins, an aura of evil and darkness radiating from her that gave anyone next to her chills.

Felicia, on the other hand, decided to be grumpy. She sat down with the Ravenclaws, and each sound made her agitated. Elena could tell that she was actually regretting not having done any homework.

Thud. Felicia's head hit the table.

"Ouch."

In the second-last period, Elena's eyes were drooping and she was starting to feel exhaustion. Felicia and Soleil, who were human again, helped her make it through the double potions somehow by sneakily fixing her draught.

She did not understand why she was feeling this way (at that time she couldn't understand much of anything). When she asked Felicia what might be the reason, she gave her the obvious answer Elena could not think of at that moment;

"You were painting again yesterday, right?"

"Oh. Right."

Soleil gave her a solemn look.
"El, you really need to pause this. Take a nap when classes end, okay?" She said.

"...but..." Elena mumbled weakly. She really wanted to finish the painting she had started.

"No buts. You are exhausted, and have every right to be. You'll have time after the year ends, right?"

"Yeah..."

"Then take a break from it. I know you love it, but still." Soleil said while patting her gently on the head.

When Elena was heading back to the common room, she accidentally stumbled upon a familiar trio of slytherins; Nott, Selwyn and Yaxley.

"S-sorry." She said, and headed towards her common room.

"Wait" Yaxley said, "Hey Elios, this is your mudblood friend isn't she?"

Some of Elena's drowsiness disappeared.

"Shut up Simon." Nott said, glaring at Elena, "He made a mistake. That's all."

Elena ignored her. She merely glanced at Elios, who held a poker face, before going about her way.
She was too tired to Hesitate.
Yaxley shot a jinx at her from his wand, but it changed direction mid-air, hitting a wall. They startled, and she heard Nott say from far off, "Your wand's acting up, Simon."

It wasn't. Elena smiled a little to herself.

Funfact: Elena is somewhat based off of my bestie. Heck even her name starts with E.

Also i know that the pacing is slow. I just want to set up the whole game.
