The Wolf's Fairy [Hogwarts Setting]

A Board Game

"I am loosing this game~" Elena muttered to herself in a sing-song way.

"Maybe if you hadn't spared Sol for the hundredth time, you wouldn't~" Felicia replied in an identical tone.

"She would've killed me if I didn't~" she continued with more confidence, adding diversity to her melody.

"Could you guys shut up?" Soleil interrupted, "you're distracting me."

Sullivan laughed at this exchange, whereas Elios remained focused on the game.
He rolled his dice, and got a six.

"HA!" He yelled, and threw Felicia's piece off the board.

"You could've been polite about it you know." Felicia remarked as she picked it.

"That was my friend's." Soleil said in a calm, deadly tone, "you're going to regret that."

Felicia rolled her eyes.
"Yeah...like you don't flip boards everytime I win the game..." she sarcastically muttered.

The two Slytherins were not listening. They glared at each other, looking for some sign of weakness.
As the game continued, they became neck-on-neck. Everyone who wasn't playing was now watching them play with keen interest. The competition was strong.
Elios rolled his dice. He got a one.
He moved his piece accordingly. He was only two blocks away from winning.

Soleil rolled a three, and was now only a block away from victory.
Tension was running high. Everyone held their breaths. Their eyes were glued to the board...

Suddenly, a large white cat jumped onto the board, throwing the pieces off. Everyone jumped and shrieked at this in surprise.

"Dawn!" Elena said, lovingly picking the cat off the board, as everyone burst into fit of laughter.

"And the winner is the cat!" Sullivan announced, standing up and pointing at the ball of fluff in Elena's arms, who glared at him menacingly.

Elios laughed with everyone, and Elena learnt his laughter was breathy and soft. He was laughing so hard, his eyes watered with tears.
When he noticed her staring, she quickly distracted herself with brushing Dawn's fur with her fingers. She felt a momentary lurch in her stomach when they made eye contact.
