Eli POV
I spent the rest of the morning making arrangements to get my plan in order and buying myself a new phone. Once I was done, I stopped at a hotel and quickly changed into a more presentable outfit for lunch with my parents. I had my assistant drop some clothes off to the room earlier so I was all set to go.
It took me about an hour and some change to get ready. Luckily I was down the street from the restaurant so it was nothin but a 5 minute drive to get to the place. It seemed like God was on my side today because there was zero traffic, I caught all green lights, and there was a spot upfront. Shit, given the morning I had, I was glad the day was looking up for me. I just hoped this lunch went well.
I was actually looking forward to Layla meeting my grandma. After my mom passed when I was a kid, my grandma stepped up to become the mother figure I needed in my life. She, along with my dad, helped raise and mold me into the man I am now. So her approval means a lot to me.
Walking inside I told the hostess I was meeting my family here. She led me to the back where everyone was seated. From what I could tell Layla was fitting right in with the crew. I smiled as I saw her exchanging a laugh with my grandma. That smile faded just as quickly as it got there as I noticed that fuck nigga Mason sitting at the table next to my sister and niece. Plastering another fake smile on my face I went ahead and greeted everybody.
"Hey baby" I said giving Layla a quick peck on the lips.
"Hey babe" she said back.
"Hey grandma" I said leaning down to give my grandma a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey baby" she responded.
"Hey sis" I said making my way towards the end of the table where Estelle and that opp nigga were sitting. Keeping up the facade that we were cool I dapped him up and made my way over to my niece Bella.
"Hey babygirl!" I said picking her up.
"Hey Uncle E!"
"What you been up to?"
"Mommy signed me up for gymnasticix!"
"Gymnastics! That's awesome! You learn any cool tricks yet?"
"Yea I can do a cartwheel now!"
"Get outta here! A WHOLE cartwheel. You know Uncle E doesn't know how to do that."
"Don't worry I'll teach you Uncle E!"
"You promise?"
"Yeah"
"You reaalllly promise?" I said tickling her a little bit.
"Yes! I promise!" she yelled through her fit of laughter.
"Alright I'ma hold you to it kid"
"Ok Uncle E!"
I put her back down in her high chair and walked back over to the other side of the table taking a seat next to Lay.
"So Miss Layla here was telling me all about school and how she wants to become an attorney"
