Layla POV

"Alright mama I love you, I'll see you guys later." Eli said giving me and the kids a hug and kiss goodbye.

"Bye baby. We'll see you later." I responded.

We were both heading out for the day. I had to take Bella to school and Amir to daycare and Eli had to go to work.

I stopped at Starbucks first and got my favorite iced tea. I got Bella a tall size since she liked to drink it as well. After we left there, I took Bella to school first.

"Okay baby girl, it's time to go now." I said getting her out of her carseat.

"Am I going to see you later?" she asked. She was still pretty traumatized from what happened to her mom. Although she wasn't there when her mom died, she is still scarred from the fact that she went to seeing her mom everyday to not seeing her at all anymore. That's a lot for any little kid to process. So now that I'm in her life and essentially serving as a mother figure for her, she asks me all the time whether I'm coming back and if she's gonna see me again. Each time I tell her she will. I just hope the consistency will allow her to build that trust back again.

"Yes baby. Of course you're going to see me later. I'll be right here when to get you when school's over okay?" I assured her.

"Okay." she nodded.

"Okay give me a kiss. Be good for your teachers okay?" I said after walking her to her classroom door.

"I will! Bye Layla!" she called as she walked inside.

Once she was inside, Amir and I got back in the car and headed over to his daycare. It was only six minutes away from Bella's school so we got there pretty fast. Once we pulled up I made sure he had all of his supplies, got him checked in, and gave him a kiss before leaving.

After leaving his daycare I went to go get my nails and wax done since it was maintenance day. The only time I had to get this kind of stuff done was when the kids were at school. Traffic was pretty light so I made it to the nail shop within 20 minutes.

"Hey Tee!" I said, greeting my nail tech as I sat in her chair..

"Hey Layla! How have you been?" she asked while starting my nail prep.

"I've been good, just busy with the kids. How about you?," I responded.

"Girl, I feel you. It is not easy keeping up with my three boys. They keep me booked and busy, especially with their sports programs." she explained.

"Oh yeah you were telling me about that. How old are they again?" I asked.

"The oldest is 14, the middle is 12, and the youngest is 9." she answered.

"I know they probably give you a run for your money." I said

"They definitely do. Yours as well I'm sure." she said with a laugh.
