Author's Note
Hey beautiful people! Happy Sunday!
This is a filler chapter but it's a good length, not too short or long. There will be some drama brewing in the next chapter, but I wanted Eli and Layla to keep living in their bubble of happiness for a bit longer.
Please remember to vote and comment on the story.
New chapter dropping 10/20 @12PM PST!

Elijah POV
"Bella, what would you like to eat?" Layla asked Bella. We were currently at our favorite brunch spot. Layla and Bella were sitting across from me in the booth and Amir and I were sitting on the other side. Bella always wanted to be up under Layla. They were practically inseparable.
"Ummmm... Chocolate chip pancakes!" Bella looked up with her index finger on her chin like she was in deep thought before saying what she wanted. I swear this girl was too much at times. We just laughed at her antics.
"I don't know if they have those here but I'll ask okay?" Layla told her.
"Okay!" Bella yelled.
"Inside voice babygirl." I told her. She was so hyper today for some reason and felt the need to yell every word.
"Okay Uncle E." she responded.
"Babe do you know what you want?" Layla asked me.
"Uh yeah I figured I'd keep it simple and just get the steak and eggs. How bout you?" I asked her.
"I think I'll get the chilaquiles." she said.
"Mmcht. You always get the same thing." I said giving her a hard time.
"Don't judge me. I just like what I like." she shrugged.
"I feel you." I said.
"So how about we finish our tic-tac-toe match from last time?" Layla suggested.
"Oooohhh you're goin down Uncle E!" Bella said instigating. This girl; was something else I tell you.
"Oh I am now?" I laughed.
"Mhm. We're gonna take you down! Ain't that right Layla?" Bella asked.
"That's right baby!" Layla said joining in. These two stayed teaming up against me.
"This ain't even fair. Y'all got each other and it's just me over here." I said pretending to be sad.
"Life ain't fair!" Bella said causing us to burst in laughter.
"Where did you even hear that from little girl?" I asked her.
"I don't know." she shrugged.
"Mmm probably from them kids at the school. But anyways if you ready for this smoke then let's get it." I said getting ready to start the game.
We played a few matches until our food came. My mom always used to play the little kids menu games with me when I was a kid so I was glad I could keep the tradition alive with these little ones.
"Dang, you beat me again!" I said to them.
"That's cuz you suck!" Bella said.
"Wowww that's how you feel Bella? That hurt." I said holding my hand over my heart like my feelings were hurt.
"Aww it's okay Uncle E, don't be sad. You'll get up next time champ." Bella said walking over to me and patting my shoulder. This girl was a whole comedian I swear.
