Ciel had asked me to play a game of chess

Ciel had asked me to play a game of chess. The weather was heavy with rain, so we weren't able to do much today for the case. Madam Red and Lau have already headed back home, and Ciel had gotten bored. We were going to look over the case again, but I urged him that we forget about it just for a couple of hours at least and take a break. We were both exhausted and down to our last whits with trying to figure out who we could've missed.

"Are you sure we should be playing chess? Madam Red already forced me to forget about the case earlier, so why do I have to do more of it?" Ciel asks. I shrug as I move my own chess piece, "because, if you're anything like me, you won't stop working until someone forces you to. And as much as I would also like to work on the case, as it's as bothersome to me as it is you. We desperately need a minute of not worrying about it and just relax if we're going to put our heads together and solve anything." Ciel sets his chess piece down, "someone could be getting murdered right about now you know." I nod, "I'm aware. But it's stressful, isn't it? Thinking about it? Wracking our heads around the same question we've been asking ourselves, 'who did we miss'?" Ciel huffs, leaning back in his chair, "I suppose." I hum, "then we're playing chess and whatever else we can think of for a while" Ciel rolls his eyes, "fine." He slams another piece down.

"Anyways. I wanted to ask, I hope I'm not really crossing any boundaries, but.."
"Hm?" I place a piece down, "I'm just curious. I wanted to ask why you chose to be the Queens Guard Dog? I'm assuming you had other opportunities given to you, so why that one specifically?" Ciel pauses for a moment then chuckles, "I could ask the same thing. A young lady such as yourself shouldn't be in something like the queens underworld." I smirk, "give me your answer first and I'll give you mine." Ciel hums, "alright. You know my family was in an accident that caused their death, yes?" I nod, "I do."
"Well, it turns out it was no accident. They were killed, on purpose." My eyes widen, "and...you became the guard dog to get revenge? Is that it?" Ciel chuckles, "no no." He taps his fingers against his chair, "revenge won't bring back the dead, nor will it bring them happiness if I do so" he says. I move a chess piece, "then..if not for revenge, is it for yourself?" Ciel nods, "exactly, yes. I want to find the people responsible for what happened, and I want to make them experience the same humiliation and pain that I had suffered." Ciel says, as he moves his next chess piece. I move mine before answering, "if I'm being honest, Ciel." He looks up at me. I meet his gaze, "If I were in your situation, I would do the same thing. I think they're getting what's coming to them, if it's you whose chasing after them." I smile softly at him. Ciel looks back down at the board as he makes his next move, "I believe it is your turn, Rosalie." He looks back up at me, leaning forward in his chair, "now, why did you accept the role as Golden Rose?" He asks with a smirk. I smile back, "well," I start with an exhale, "my mother was Golden Rose before me as you know. The women in my family line have taken on this title for generations, as we serve our queen as her weapons of London." I pause, "my family line used to be one of professional killers. Murdering those for money, which is how we got most of our fortune before we moved onto the fashion industry" I laugh lightly, as I lean a cheek in my hand, "eventually, someone tried to go for bigger fish."
"The Queen?"
"Mhm. She failed of course. But the Queen made an offer. 'Be my weapons, my eyes and ears, my protectors. And I will spare your life, as well as grant your family a life of luxury for generations to come.'" I shrug, "and. We did. My family continued to learn how to eliminate those who dare threaten her and her country, including our own family if it comes to it." I scoff, "And I mean, no one really expects a woman to know how to handle a weapon in this day and age." Ciel nods, "that is true."
"So of course, as the next Goldesbury lady in line, I had to take it. I owe it to my family after all. I wasn't really the best kid while they were still alive, always getting into trouble.." Ciel hums, "but?" I softly laugh, "but. That isn't really the reason why I took it. Although it is a reason." I place my next chess piece on the board, taking Ciels queen from game, "I'm looking for someone, just like you."
"Who are you looking for?" Ciel asks. I sit back in my chair, "the person who got away from me the day Irene and I made a contract." Ciel smiles amused, "oh? what happened? If you don't mind me asking?" I huff as I take Ciels king, winning the game. He stares at me dumbfounded as I wave his king around with a mocking smile on my face, "I was kidnapped from my vacation home in America. My parents were murdered, my sister and I were sold on the black market. And Alice died due to being mishandled and beaten to death by a nasty man." I glare at the chess piece in my hand, "After being sold, I was taken to an underground trafficking system, where I was taken advantage by multiple men. I called Irene, as it seemed this system also used the children who couldn't be sold as sacrifices in black magic." I pause, "When I called her, I thought she'd killed everyone. Even more so after I made the order for her to destroy the place shortly after. But, sadly, one escaped. The person who did was the one whose name is branded on me..." I set the won chess piece down, and unbutton my shirt. I pull out one of my arms, and stand up to turn around to show Ciel under my upper arm, "he bought me, and was about to drag me off when Irene showed up. When he did buy me days before, they hot ironed my arm here with his name, to show that I was no longer a person, but someone's property to be used for his sexual fantasies." I put my arm back into my sleeve and button up my shirt again. When I turn back around, Ciels face was shaded in pink. He clears his throat, "sorry, I just, didn't expect you to start undressing" realizing that I just did that without thinking, my face also goes bright pink, "I-I'm so sorry, I don't know what I was thinking I just-"
"No it's alright, ahem. You were only showing me something, you weren't actually-"
"Still I'm, I'm embarrassed. Really I'm sorry Ciel, truly." Ciel waves his hand before picking up his tea cup, "really it's okay, just startled was all." I clear my throat and sit back down, "I seem to do that a lot" Ciel sets his tea cup down, "indeed."
