before this chapter starts I'm letting y'all know that chapters will be slower than usual for a bit. I'm renovating my bedroom and so the notes I use to write this fic is currently in a box (like the rest) sitting somewhere in my moms BF garage (and I have no idea where they put it) so until my room is finished and I get everything where it should be again chapters will be on hold.

Thanks for understanding, Anyways, enjoy this chapter! (Cause it's gonna be the last one for a hot minute)

(Also happy 2022!)

"This isn't tea, is it?"
"No. Are you disappointed?" I shake my head, "nope. Something this interesting? How could I be disappointed?"

Ciel had called me over three weeks after our Houndsworth mystery. He made me think it was for tea, but it was in fact something better than tea.

Ciel had come across a camera at an auction that was made by Henry Fox Talbot. Mr Talbot had many many amazing cameras in his collection, but one stood out from the rest. This special camera had disappeared a couple years ago from the collection, but recently resurfaced at this auction. This is the camera he created was said to show the image of the person you loved most if you took a picture with it. While that's already interesting, the thing that makes this camera truly special is that the people in the image are not only a loved one, but a dead loved one. The camera captures images of the dead.

"So, Ciel already explained this to you all?" I ask the servants in the room, "yes Lady Goldesbury!" They all reply.

Ciel had spoken to his servants before I arrived, explaining what we'd be doing today. Ciel ended up thinking I'd enjoy this little activity, which is why after explaining it to them, he invited me last minute. To which I immediately accepted, whether it was actually tea or not.

I turn back to Ciel, "so! Whose the target? I assume there's someone you have in mind?" I ask, rubbing my hands together in anticipation. Ciel leans on his hands and smiles, "Sebastian."
"Sebastian?" I repeat. He nods, "after recent events, knowing more things that frazzle him has become a hobby of mine" I snicker, "that's absolutely brilliant, Ciel." I pause for a moment before realizing something, "wait, you said the camera shows what that person cares for most? But they're dead?" Ciel nods, "that's right." I raise a brow, pointing to the door behind me, "Irene. Sebastian cares about Irene." I point out. I'd completely forgotten the other servants were in the room till Bardroy spoke up, "so what? Irene's human. She's a living person, she won't be in the picture" he says. Ciel and I exchange glances, "right...human.." I mutter. Ciel clears his throat, "anyways."

Ciel stands up. With the camera in hand, he hands it to me, "I only feel like running this little show, so would you like to carry it out for me?" A wide smile crosses my face as I take the camera out of his hands, "certainly Lord Phantomhive, it would be my pleasure."
