JEMA'S POV
Nakakasalubong ko pa rin minsan si Lexie sa resort pero di ko na sya masyadong pinapansin.
Na inis pa din talaga ako sa ginawa nya kay Deanna dun sa may karaoke.
Simula nun eh napansin ko ng may gumagambala kay Deanna.
I keep asking her and sinasabi nyang okay lang but I know something's off.
Then one night, I heard her talking over the phone.
She thought I was sleeping so pumunta sya ng balcony.
"Mom, I know what I'm doing okay?"
I could faintly hear her mom talking on the other line.
Di ko marining yung buong sentence but I could hear a few words.
"...forget what she did...wasn't there... needed her"
"I know Mom, I haven't forgotten but she's not the only one to blame for that. May kasalanan din naman ako." sagot ni Deanna.
"...love Raph...beautiful...close na kami"
"Just give her a chance Mom. Di pa kasi kayo masyadong nakakapag bonding. I'll bring her to Cebu."
"...don't need...already had Raph"
"Mom for the last time, wala na nga kami ni Raph. Why can't you just support me? Sya pa rin nagpapasaya sa akin."
"When are....make better choices...sachi"
"She's not just the better choice, she's the best choice. I just hope you'll see that too"
"...never...forgive her"
"Then that's too bad Mom. Because you'll be missing out on our lives. I'm not leaving her Mom and I'm not going to expose her to our family kung ganyan kayo sa kanya" Deanna put her foot down.
I couldn't stop my tears from falling.
Pano na yan? Parang di na ako mapapatawad ng family ni Deanna.
Ang pangit naman yata na makipagsiksikan ako sa kanila if they hate me.
And I don't wanna cause a rift between Deanna and her family because I would never let her choose me over them.
Pagsasabihan ko sya na dapat pamilya nya pa din yung piliin nya even if it means losing her.
Because that's the right thing to do.
When Deanna came back to the bed, I pretended to be asleep still kahit nahihirapan na akong itago ang hikbi ko.
I need to find a right time to talk to her about it.
Or should I just wait until sya yung mag open ng topic?
Hayyy ang gulo.
Busy si Deanna sa pagluluto ng hapunan namin ngayon.
"B punta lang ako kila ate Lucy saglit" paalam ko sa kanya.
"Okay b. Matagal tagal pa din to maluto"
Pero sa totoo, hindi ako pumunta kila ate Lucy.
