Chapter 7!

It was now the middle of May, it had been six months since Elizabeth had last visited The Wammy House with her Aunt. Her Great Aunt Thora had been ill lately, she spent most of her time in bed or visiting the hospital. Mr Wammy had been to visit her a few times at the cottage and brought her many pretty flowers from the gardens of The Wammy House, but he didn't bring A with him for any of those visits.

Elizabeth hadn't seen A since the charity event in December, she did ask Watari if he was okay and he told her that A will be busy with his studies for the next few months. She missed seeing her only friend in Winchester, she got lonely sometimes in her Aunt's old and dusty cottage. She had no school friends since she was home schooled, she was lonely.

" I'm so bored..." Elizabeth muttered.

Placing her pencil down on her drawing pad Elizabeth looked through the lounge's window, she watched a few birds playing in the water of the stone bird bath in the middle of the lawn. It was a lovely summers day, it was too nice to be stuck indoors. She slid from her chair and grabbed her black shoes from underneath the table, she was going to stretch her legs outside for an hour.

"Rose!" Elizabeth called.

Elizabeth walked out of the lounge and made her way to the kitchen, but there was no sign of Rose. There was some freshly made bread cooling on a rack near the window, she loved the scent of freshly made bread. She helped herself to some cherries before she called out to Rose again, she wasn't anywhere in the downstairs part of the cottage.

" Rose, where are you?! " Elizabeth yelled.

Looking around the kitchen Elizabeth noticed the back door was open, she had to be outside. She put her shoes before she took an apple from the fruit bowl, she then left the kitchen through the back door. She soon saw Rose hanging out the laundry, she gave her a smile while she walked down the pathway.

" Rose, can I go out on my bike for awhile please?" Elizabeth asked." I need a break from my art homework, it's giving me a headache."

" If you want, but remember to wear you knee pads and helmet." Rose replied, she took one of her Aunt's blouses from her laundry basket. " Maybe you could do me a favour, there's a parcel that needs to be delivered to The Wammy House. Mr Gents from the Post Office was meant to be picking it up an hour ago, but his van broken down on the way here. What do you say about cycling to The Wammy House for me? You'd be doing me a big favour, your Aunt wanted the parcel delivered by tomorrow morning."

" You want me to cycle to The Wammy House?!" Elizabeth asked with a hint of surprise in her voice." Do you think Aunt Thora will allow it?"

" I don't see it being a problem, she was very proud of you when you passed your bike program test the other week." Rose replied with a smile. " She's taking her afternoon nap right now, so you should be back by the time she wakes up if you leave now."

" This is so cool!" Elizabeth smiled, she jumped on the spot and let out an excited squeal. " I won't let you down!"

" Just be careful and stay to the left of the road. Also remember to signal when you turn into different roads, it's better safe than sorry." Rose said while she continued to hang the washing on the line. " That's what my old Mum use to say."

" I will, I'll be back before you know it!" Elizabeth said.

" Okay my love, have fun!" Rose smiled.

Elizabeth took a bite of her apple while she walked back ithe kitchen, she took the small parcel with an envelope attached to it from the counter side and headed towards her bedroom. She got changed into some suitable clothes and hurried back downstairs, she gave Rose a smile before she put the parcel in her backpack.
