Chapter 27!

The Next Day

Elizabeth groaned when she heard her alarm clock ringing from the bedside table, she opened one of her eyes and switched it off with a sigh. She felt really tired this morning, the Halloween party had gone on longer than expected. Somehow May had talked Mr Ruvie into letting the party end at 10pm instead of 9pm, she wasn't sure how she had managed to do that but she was his niece after all.

Elizabeth kicked her blankets away from herself and got out of bed, she then headed to the bathroom. She had a quick shower and cleaned her teeth before she got changed into her favorite blue dress. She fastened her black belt around her waist while she left the bathroom, she had a few minutes to spare before breakfast. She brushed her hair and put on some chapstick before she put her cardigan on, but she soon noticed A's denim jacket hanging over the back of her chair. He must have forgotten to take it with him last night. Elizabeth and A had left the Halloween party an hour early so they could have a catch up before lights out, he told her all about Los Angeles and the main attractions he had seen while he was staying there. He also told her that they couldn't find Elèanore, but it turned out that a few other students had gone missing from Watari's business contact's orphanage and the university's campus too.

Taking A's jacket from the back of the chair she quickly left her room while she put the jacket on, she got a few cheery good mornings from some students while she walked passed them in the corridor. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood this morning. She hurried down the stairs to the ground floor of the orphanage, but she stopped dead when she felt a weird fluttering sensation in her chest. She grabbed hold of banister while she rested her hand on my chest. The fluttering sensation soon subsided by the time she had gotten to the ground floor, she took a deep breath and crossed her arms while she walked down the corridor to the dinner hall. Elizabeth entered the dinner hall and took a wooden tray from the tray rack, she then chose some breakfast from the deli counter. She looked around the dinner hall and spotted A sitting with four blonde haired girls in the corner of the hall.

Elizabeth watched one of the girls drape her arm around A's shoulders while she laughed loudly, he didn't seem bothered by the public display of affection the girls were giving him. She took something from his hand and showed it to one of her friends, the other girls began to laugh when A began to speak with them.

" Disgusting isn't it?" Nonie asked before she joined her friend's side. " They're like a bunch of puppies drooling all over a new chew toy. Who knew that A would get this popular after being away from the orphanage for over a year. I really hate bimbos drooling all over my Brother. What the hell is wrong with you girls?!"

Elizabeth cringed when a few students turned around on their chairs to look at them, she hated when Nonie got overprotective of her Brother in public. A push the girl away from him and cover up his face with both of his hands, she had embarrassed him too. Elizabeth looked at Nonie, she was wearing her sunglasses again.

" Hey Izzy, how are feeling?" She asked with smirk. " I think I'm sugar wasted, I've not slept all night! How about you? Did you sleep last night?"

" I slept well enough, thank you." Elizabeth replied.

" I bet you did, I saw you and my Brother slip out of the side door last night an hour before the party ended..." She said with chuckle. " Where did you both go? You missed out on the pumpkin walk to the cemetery, it was so creepy! Backup scared the crap out of these five year olds with his werewolf mask. It was hilarious until one of them peed themselves, then the party was truly over."

" We just went for a walk and hung out in my room, he was telling me all about Los Angeles and its main attractions..." Elizabeth replied before she turned her attention back towards A sitting at the table. " It sounds like a nice place to take a holiday. All those piers with arcades and ice cream stands along the boardwalk, it sounds like heaven to me."
