Chapter 32!

It was just after 1:30am, the students and teachers of the orphanage were asleep for the night. Elizabeth carefully put a pair of blue latex gloves on while she watched Backup picking at Mr Ruvie's office door lock, she was helping him steal some of the orphanage's money from the electronic safe to pay for his airline ticket to Los Angeles. She heard the door unlock. Backup put his lock picking kit into his black sports bag and carefully opened the door, he then told his friend to carry his bag for him. Elizabeth took his bag from him before he opened the door. He looked both ways down the corridor, he beckoned her to follow him before he disappeared into the office. She followed after him and close the door quietly behind her, she then looked around the room. She hated Mr Ruvie's office, it was cluttered with furniture and antiques. There was also this strange smell coming from somewhere in the room, the scent was musky.

Backup took hold of her wrist, he lead her over to an old stone fireplace on the other side of the room before he took his bag from her. He switched on his hand held torch and told her to shine it onto the fireplace for him. She took the torch from his hand and watched him crawling inside of the fireplace, he knocked on the back wall of the fireplace with his fist. Elizabeth slightly bent forward and watched him removing some bricks from the wall at the back of the fireplace, she had no idea that Mr Ruvie had a hidden safe inside his fireplace.

" Are you sure this is a good idea?" Elizabeth whispered. " I mean what if we get caught? Do you realize how much trouble we could get into if we're discovered? Especially you, you're meant to be a role model for the students in the orphanage."

" My plan is perfect!" He replied. " Nothing can faultier it unless we're discovered. But I know Mr Ruvie is on medication right now which makes him drowsy. If we keep quiet and make no sudden noises then we'll be fine. You very well know his bedroom is located right through that door over there."

" What?!" Elizabeth gasped." I didn't know his room was right next to his office!"

" Hush my dear, don't panic." He chuckled.

Elizabeth looked over at the door to Mr Ruvie's sleeping quarters, she had no idea that his room was right next door to his office. Backup told her to keep the torch still, she turned her attention back towards him and blew her fringe away from my eyes. He had made a pile of bricks next to the fire poker stand, he took the torch from her hand and shone it onto the electronic safe. Backup typed the password into the number pad of the safe, it soon unlocked it and he opened it up. Elizabeth's eyes grew wide when she saw loads of bank notes piled up in wads, there must be thousands of pounds inside of the safe. Backup handed the torch back to her before he unzip his bag. He put a new pair of latex gloves on, he began to take wads of bank notes from his bag. He then exchange them with the wads of bank notes from the safe.

" Is this fake money?" Elizabeth whispered.

" Yes, it was easy to get hold of in this place." He replied.

" Where did you get fake money from?" Elizabeth asked. " Surely someone will notice fake money going missing, how do you plan to get away with this?"

" I got it from the attic, there's a box full of fake notes hidden behind a book shelf." He replied. " It's kept there for student study purposes only, but by the time they figure it out I'll already be miles away from the orphanage. My destination has been chosen, I'll be leaving in five days time. The offer is still stands if you want to join me on my little adventure."

" That's pretty short notice for an important decision like that to be made, especially when you'll be leaving in five days time." Elizabeth said. " Do you even have a passport yet?"

" You very well know I've been making fake documents for the past few days, all I need is a yes or no from you in the next few minutes. I can easily make you some fake documents too." He replied. " Time is ticking away, do you really what to spend some of your lifetime in this place? You could be living a normal life outside in the real world with someone who could take care of you..."
