Contrary to what you usually tell yourself, you aren't anywhere near the word 'fit.' Sure you love to play sports, do bike rides here and there, dance and whatnot but you certainly do not enjoy the lingering soreness that would just envelope your whole body after it all.

So how Jungwon managed to knit you with him to go hiking and camping was beyond youㅡor maybe not really because it only took him a single bribery of treating you lunch every single day for the whole month for you to comply.

And no, you did not have anything in your mind when he asked other than the free lunch that you were gonna receive that he bribed you with. You told yourself that the hiking part was gonna be okay. You assured yourself that you'll be okay.

Oh, how foolish of you to actually believe and say because now you're eating your own words of reassurance as you trek along the path going to the top hill along with Jungwon.

"Okay... This is my life now. I'm climbing this hill and now I will die upon it." You mumble in between intake of air, gripping your trekking pole tightly in your hand.

Behind you Jungwon deadpans. "Shut up. We've only been hiking for twenty minutes."

Turning your head to send a glare to your friend, you snarkily replied. "Well I apologize I'm not as fit as you."

"Who says I'm enjoying this?" Jungwon falls into step beside you before tapping your backpack with his own trekking pole. "I don't really enjoy this as much as you do but Sunghoon hyung said that the view will be breathtaking. Thought I'd see it with you."

Hearing that, you turned silent. Deciding to playfully smack the male on his shoulder as the two of you walk the trail in silence.

Though could be blunt and sarcastic, Jungwon usually has his times to voice out certain things in the most unexpected time, sometimes causing you to end up flustered and speechless, in awed by how he could easily say such commentaries without any drawbacks unlike the loud pumping in your chest and the warmth that would blossom in your skin that you would normally receive.

It was almost like he's not as bothered as you by the things that would flow out of his own mouth that he'd just act normal and the same right after, while you have to face the consequences of feeling things you shouldn't feel for your friend.

You really can't decide if you want Jungwon to be playfully blunt with you or to be the exact opposite because to be quite honest, you couldn't handle either of the two. But supposedly then your little admiration for your long time friend probably helped you to have the patience for his unwavering acts of unintentional flattering (or so how you told yourself) for you to disregard them as mere jokes of his that you've never really hold dear to your heart (or maybe you did, you just kept on telling yourself this).

The two of you trekked the trail for another more twenty minutes and a half before deciding to take a small break in a little wooden bench that was situated halfway through the camping grounds. It was just a bench big enough for three people to fit, a flattened log acting as a wooden table placed right in front of the seat but nonetheless, you appreciated the little thought why some campers and hikers thought of installing one.

It was in fact tiring to hike up for approximately an hour. Not only did you bring some essentials and supplies but the trail wasn't the thing that you're the most fond of.

Beside you, Jungwon place his bag on the ground before dropping his trekking pole on the log with a sigh, fetching a towel from his backpack pocket and wiping his sweat away.

"Okay... We just need to walk up one more mile and the camping site should be there." Jungwon takes another towel from his bag before draping it over your head. He opens his water bottle and taking a few huge gulps before he speaks again. "You can survive another fifteen to twenty minutes walk, can you?"
