I got home late. Terrin, Aaron, and Rowen were waiting for me. As soon as Rowen saw me, he ran over and gave me a huge hug. "I was worried sick!" He said. I didn't reply. I was too stunned. Why did Ryia say that to me? The four of us walked in the castle and sat in a circle. Terrin told us what Ryia had said to him. I told them what Ryia said to me.
"Maybe I should try talking to her. She might listen to me" said Rowen. "Why would she listen to you when she doesn't listen to any of us?" Terrin asked. Rowen looked hurt for a split second, but the look on his face quickly went away. "I know what to do" said Aaron. We all looked at him. "We'll rub the fact that she misses us in her face, because I know she does" he said. "Well if she misses us, why is she ignoring us?" Terrin asked.
"Well, theirs obviously two reasons. Number one, jealousy. Number two, she's hiding something from us. Something must have happened at fae camp that effected her personally, so she's shunning everyone out of her life for it" Aaron said. "Jealousy? Why would she be jealous?" I asked. "Well, obviously you and Terrin are very close. Just a year ago, Ryia and Terrin were as close as the both of you were. She may feel like her best friend has been stolen from her" said Aaron.
After a few more minutes of talking about it, we decided to get some rest. Terrin and I were walking down the hallway. Their was nobody there but us. I knew I trusted him more than anybody, so I wanted to tell him about Aaron and I. "Terrin, theirs been something I've been meaning to tell you" I said. He looked at me and asked, "what is it?"
"Well....for about a year now.....Aaron and I have.....well.....been together" I said. Terrin stared at me for a moment. Then, he slapped his hand on the wall and yelled, "I KNEW IT!" "Shh!" I said. He cringed and said, "sorry!" I told him the story. How we fell in love, why we've been keeping it a secret, and that we see each other every night. "So....have you two, smooched?" Terrin asked. I laughed. Then, I blushed and said, "maybe".
He poked me about a million times on the shoulder. I laughed. "So have you two....you know...." He said, smiling and lifting his eyebrows up and down rapidly. I laughed and said, "oh lord no!" He laughed too. "Oh, poor Prince Laithen! If he finds out, he will be SOOOOO heartbroken!" Terrin said dramatically. I laughed and said, "you can't tell anyone!"
Terrin took my pinky. He latched his into it and said, "your secret is safe with me". I smiled. Then, I hugged him and said, "thank you, Terrin!" He slowly put his arms around me and hugged back. Was he shocked at the sudden gesture? Suddenly, I heard a voice say, "can you stop the love fest? I'm trying to sleep here!" I hadn't realized that we ended up outside Ryia's room until she stood outside of it with her arms crossed and an angry expression on her face.
I quickly separated from Terrin. "Yeah, that's what I thought. Why don't you two get a room?" Ryia said rudely. I was getting angry. Suddenly, shadows radiated around me. No! My powers hadn't been out of control in months! I gasped, and the shadows went away. "Are you alright Alex?" Terrin quietly asked. I nodded, still stunned that I had gone out of control.
"Ugh! Shut up and go to sleep!" Ryia said. "I'm surprised you even care that we're up late and talking. I'm surprised that you came out and said something about it, since all you do is shut yourself away from everyone!" I yelled. Ryia growled and yelled "shut up!" "You shut up! We were so excited that you were coming back, and now all you do is ignore everyone and act like a bitch! Go home! Go back to your precious little fairy camp! Go back to your precious little fairy queen and your precious little Leo!" I screamed.
Ryia ran up to me and slapped me. I gasped. I touched the cheek that she slapped, seeing blood on my fingers when I removed my hand. Ryia gasped. "Alexandria, I'm sorry! I didn't mean-" but Terrin interrupted whatever she was going to say by saying, "you heard Alex. Go home. You obviously don't want to see us. Why did you even come here? Go back to the fae camp. And if they won't let you back for some reason, go to the assassins underworld".
"Terrin...." I said. "No. Go away Ryia. You don't want to see us? Well guess what? We don't want to see you" Terrin said. Ryia gasped. A single tear came from her eye. Then, she locked herself in her room. Terrin lightly touched my cheek and asked, "are you alright?" I nodded. I couldn't believe that Terrin had said that to her. That I had said that to her. I was pretty sure that I completely lost my friendship with my sister.
A tear streamed down my eye. Then, shadows formed by my feet. I was too upset to control my powers. I fell to the ground and let myself be consumed by shadows.
