Just an FIY I am up at almost 3 AM writing this because the best stories come from late night thoughts. Let's see where my mind takes us shall we?
*Vic's POV*
Yesterday made me feel acomplished. I sucessfully introduced Kellin to the guys and it worked. He fits in perfectly, which was not to my surprise. I think it works even better that we all have a passion for music. That however did surprise me about Kellin. He seemed more like the artsy guy in my eyes.
I always dabbled in a bit of music from when I was a small child. My dad gave me my first guitar and from there the rest was history. Mike also always loved music, but he was in it for the drums. Which was nice until he got his first drum set for Christmas when we were 9. I swear he'd never stop banging those things.
Even now I still write "lyrics." Which are really just a bunch of little phrases that I hope to someday put together into a real song.
"Vic c'mon we're gonna be late!" Mike reminded me. I snapped out of my thoughts, grabbed my keys and headed for the door.
-
I dreadedly walked the halls of the school. I hate this place, but everytime I imagined just giving up I mentally noted that graduation was just a few months away. Then I'd be free to pursue what I wanted. I mentally noted that Hold On Till May would be a good song title.
I walked into trig class and headed to my usual spot in the back and began my day dreaming again. Not at all caring about what the teacher was teaching. It wasn't like I'd use this in every day life anyway.
I was pulled back into reality as I saw my maestra pointing at me. Or really the seat next to me. "Schedule change? Back there next to Victor." At first I went back to staring out the window not caring who it was that was supposed to sit next to me. That was until someone tapped my shoulder.
"Hey Vic" It was Kellin and I immediately became alert. Why? I don't know.
"Oh hey" I said quickly. Calm yourself Vic it's just Kells! He smirked at my nervousness. "Why'd they change your schedule?" I asked to change the subject.
"Don't know. Schools do weird shit." We laughed.
-
As math class ended and the bell rung for our dismiss. I hurried and left the room not wanting to further conversate with Kellin. I mean, I didn't dislike him. I just disliked the fact that he made me so nervous for no reason. My little plan of escape was foiled when he called after me. "Hey Vic!"
I mentally rolled my eyes but turned around to face him
"Yes? What? Hurry up a guy's gotta be on time to class." I tried to sound serious but he just laughed.
"You don't care about being on time." Which was true.
"Anyway," He continued, "I was wondering if we could go out and eat after school?" He asked. Was this like a date? Vic, you're utterly stupid. No no no and no.
"You mean like, me you Mike and the rest of the guys? Sure yeah I'll as-"
"Nah, I mean just you and I. C'mon Victor if you're gonna be my friend you're probably gonna have to put up with me even after school hours sometimes." He joked.
"Oh..yeah sure. I'll text you, or, whatever. Cya." I quickly sped down the hall in the opposite direction of him. What the hell was that?
*Kellin's POV*
"Dude he so likes you!" Justin exclaimed over the phone. I described the events of the day so far while I had my usual 10 minute break.
"Oh stop. I don't even think he's gay. Plus I've only known the dude a whole 2 days." I was openly gay, that is with my friends back in Montana. No one here in San Diego knew I was. Yet.
"Oh yeah? Explain the nervousness and jumpiness when you asked him to lunch." I had to admit that it was weird that Vic had been so nervous about it. I was just in it to get to know him better.
"I don't know Justin. Anyway break is almost over. I'll catch up with you later."
He laughed, probably sitting there with a smug look on his face at his proven point. "Alright cya man." The phone call ended.
For the rest of break I pondered with Justin's suggestion. Was Vic gay? And if so, did he really like me? Of course I was doubtful. But also I wasn't hopeful anyway. I didn't see him and I as anything more than friends.
-
School ended and of course I took my usual walking route home. When I got home I quickly showered, threw on whatever clothes, and went to doing some homework since I'd be out later. I was now just waiting for Vic's text.
*Vic's POV*
"God awful hair!" I exclaimed as I stood in the mirror. My hair was always giving me trouble. I threw on some casual clothes and a snap back to hide my bird's nest I called my scalp. Right now I was confident in myself. Kellin and I were just going out to eat and get to know eachother better probably.
Vic: You ready?
text sent.
Kellin: Yeah here's my address. Cya soon.
After Google mapping the way because I was terrible with directions, I grabbed my keys and headed for the door.
"Hey wait Vic where ya goin?" Mike asked as I had my right foot out the door.
"Out?" I replied in a question tone that amused him.
"With?" He questioned back.
"Kellin. We're just gonna go eat or something." I tried to sound as casual as possible.
"Mhm...I think it's a date." If Mike was famous for anything it'd be seeing through people. But he was wrong. This was no date.
"Yeahhhh not even close. Lock up. Cya later."
I turned and headed for my car on the way to Kellin's house.
