*Vic's POV*

We arrived to my house as my mom and dad were leaving for dinner. My mom told Mike and I it was cool to have Kellin and Alysha over, so we waved them goodbye and went inside.

The whole drive Kellin stole glances at me every so often. I pretended not to notice because I didn't want him to stop. However, it also made me anxious. It was like walking on ice and relying on it to support your weight. I wanted Kellin, but I just wasn't 100% sure yet.

"I'll be right back." I excused myself to the only place in this house that provides peace of mind.

The backyard.

The only reason I enjoy coming out here is the pastel view of the beach it provides. And the full view of the vividly glowing night sky sometimes. Since it was only the afternoon, I was here for the beach view.

When you climb the wall look out to the horizon, you can just descry the beach from here. I sat on the rough brick wall, thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. Most of my thoughts traced back to Kellin.

I heard footsteps approach me and I already knew who it was without turning my head a single degree.

"What do you want Mike?" I whined, annoyed that he interrupted my pensive state of mind.

"I know you only come out here when you're overthinking something. Or should I say, someone."

I sighed, frustrated with the fact he knew me so well. "I don't know Mike..."

"Oh c'monn, we all see the way he can't stop smiling when you're around."

"That doesn't mean he likes me." I protested.

"Vic, we can sit here and debate all night. Kellin likes you and you like him. I say go for it."

Before I could protest again, he added, "and besides, if he says no, you guys will still be friends because we all know you two practically can't live without each other."

I smiled at the statement. Are we really that close?

He soon went back inside with the others, and told me to join them soon because he was not an entertaining host.

I returned my attention to the now orange-yellow horizon and the beach. I closed my eyes and focused on breathing.

I'd make up my mind later.

All inside, we were on the couch watching TV when Mike suggested something interesting.

"Guys, it's getting dark. We should all go get flashlights and set up tents in the backyard for fun. Inside is too boring. "We simultaneously glanced at one another and decided it was a pretty legit idea.
