*Vic's POV*

I drove along to the mapped out destination that was the home of Kellin Quinn. Nervous? The answer was yes. I was surprised to find that he didn't live that far away from me, the drive was only about 10 minutes out. I brought my car to a hault outside the home with the matching address. It wasn't anything fancy, yet I still found myself a bit intrigued by the simple fact that this is where most of his time is spent.

I approached the door and knocked, standing there feeling overwhelmed with the thousand thoughts swimming the choppy sea that is my mind.

A few minutes later, I heard footsteps, then a door opened to a joyous Kellin.

"Hey there" He said with a smile.

"Hey" I replied casually. He stepped out and closed the door behind him.

"Rules are I have to be back by 8" He said with a sly sarcastic tone.

"Yeah, yeah princess" I teased as we headed for my car.

Over text we had decided we'd just go to a diner up the street to spare unnecessary complex debates on where to eat. This place was casual.

We entered and sat on a waiting bench for a server to come show us to our table. I, was in a mess of worries and Kellin looked a bit on edge as well. He tapped at his exposed knee through his cut black jeans and absent-mindedly clacked his heels together on the marble flooring. I couldn't help but examine some things about him that particularly stood out to me. Like the way he was always messing with his hair or picking at lose threads at his clothes. I wondered what he was thinking.

*Kellin's POV*

I was a wreck of complicated thoughts. What if we ran out of things to talk about? What if I ask something too personal and he ends up hating me? That was one thing I couldn't stand about myself. Besides all the other things at least, but I was constantly over thinking things. I was careful not to eat anything before this event so I wouldn't feel as guilty later.

I was thankfully snapped out of my thoughts as our waitress came to show Vic and I our table. We got up and followed her to a quiet booth toward the back of the diner. When we sat, she gave us our menues and introduced herself.

"Hi I'm Tay and I'll be your waitress tonight" She smiled before continuing. "drinks?"

"Uh I'll have a Dr.Pepper and, please, not too much ice. People always do that to me" Vic finished with a laugh. Tay smiled back, jotted that down, and quickly motioned to me for my turn. "I'll just take a water" I said politely.

"Alright! I'll get those right back to you guys and a few minutes I'll come for your orders" She gave a nod before turning towards the kitchen.

Now it was just Vic and I.

"I could totally get with her" I said with a fake flirtatious grin. This was a test. I wanted to see if Vic's face would falter at my words. It did.

"You like her?"

"Nah, not into girls that much" I confessed matter-of-factly.

Vic raised a surprised eyebrow, but didn't question. I assumed he made a mental comment which made me feel 10x more insecure than I was already feeling. But I was quick to push that away with the knowlege that it would eventually surface later anyway.

"Soooo," he changed the topic, "water. You're daring"

"Yeah, I live life on the edge" I leaned back on the cold boarding of the seat with my hands behind my head trying to seem nonchalant.

"I see. So tell me, what do you do in your past time?" He questioned.

"Uh, some drawing, some writing of the lyrics.. I dunno I'm  boring. You?"

"Pretty much same although I do more lyrics than drawing because I'm not the best at it."

"Hm, maybe I could tutor you sometime" I said with a wink. This again was a test to see if Vic would tense up. No surprise, he did. I couldn't help but laugh at his obvious nervousness. It made me relax and not be so caught up in the complexes of my mind. He smiled back which sent a little feeling of content throughout my body. It's like he stopped the storm of my mind, and the boat that contained my thoughts that was previously rocking, began to sail smoothly. He calmed me.

--

We spent the rest of that night eating and talking about things that sparked our interests, which were surprisingly similar. If I had learned anything about Vic this night I learned that he is utterly frivolous after he's let his guard down, I'd like to think I'm the same way, except I don't usually let my guard down that often.

Evening turned to night, and then late night all too soon. We decided it was about time to go at 9:30. We left a tip for Tay (which was a good waitress) and headed for Vic's car.

Before I knew it we were stopping in front of my house and I found myself a bit disappointed, I had fun tonight.

"Thanks for the dinner," I said to Vic before getting out of the car "catch you later" I said and began walking up my driveway, but I was stopped by his voice. "Wait!"

I turned around and gave him a look that he deciphered as me asking yes?

"That whole comment about you not being into girls that much...are you like, gay?" His question left me dumbfounded and ambivalent about what to say next. I decided to answer a question with a question. "Would it change how you see me if I was?" I said with obvious hesitation.

"Of course not. If it makes you feel any better, I am." He said with a straightforward tone.

"Oh, well then, yes. I'm gay. Does that interest you, Vic?" I said with unserious flirtatiousness.

"Oh don't be full of yourself. Night, Kellin." He exaggerated on my name.

"Night, Vic." I mocked him.

That ended our contact for the day.

--

I was exhaused after completing my sinful act. I was ashamed of how much I had eaten at dinner tonight. Even more, I was ashamed of why I had eaten so much. It was one reason. The reason had a pulse. I was ashamed of how I let myself go like I did tonight. I completely overate. God knows how many calories was in that sandwhich? I mentally reminded myself of why I chose to do this. My one goal. Be thin. I closed the toilet lid and flushed. After taking a second to regain my strength, I got up, brushed my teeth, washed my face and retreated to my bed where I laid pensively for the next few hours. The same name crossing my head: Vic.
