Chapter 23 bandits at the border

Asta and Yami were walking around the capital heading to the wizard kings office. Yami had been summoned there and decided to bring Asta with him. As they were walking they ran into someone they didn't expect to see.

"Yami after you're done with your captain shit wanna get a drink then go fishing Asta asked.

"Depends if we're to wasted to go fishing but sure why not it'll be nice Yami said.

Asta just let out a chuckle as they continued walking but they both jumped back and someone landed in front of them making a crater in the ground.

"What the hell they both said.

The smoke surrounded the crater so they didn't know what had happened or what was in it so Asta was on guard but for some reason Yami wasn't.

"Yami why aren't you on guard Asta asked.

"Cause I know who is it calm down we'll be fine Yami said.

"I see you reactions have gotten better brat a familiar voice said.

"Wait that's not who I think it is right Asta said.

"No it's definitely who you think it is Yami said.

"Mereleona what did we say about damaging the wizard kings property Marx shouted.

"Oh shut up mushroom head Mereleona said.

"Now brat where the hell have you been Mereleona said.

"I've been traveling Asta said.

"Oh yeah to where the bullshit store tell me the truth Mereleona said.

"As blunt as ever I see well it was a half truth I traveled to the heart stayed there went to spade was kept forcefully, escaped then came here Asta said.

"What do you mean you were kept forcefully Mereleona said with a scowl.

"Uh they captured me and tortured me to get information in the clover and heart kingdoms Asta said as if it was no big deal.

"What else I know you're lying Mereleona said.

"Let's just say it wasn't pretty and it wasn't a good time either Asta said not wanting to relive those memories again even though they still plague him.

Mereleona looked at Asta on the outside she held a scowl but on the inside she was concerned but wouldn't show it so she let it be for now.

"Well it was good to see you again brat I'll see you soon Mereleona said.

"Yeah I guess you will I'm surprised you're back I thought you were gonna stay in the heavy mana forest for a couple more months Asta said.

Mereleona just laughed and went off to god knows where. After she left Yami and Asta went to the wizard kings office.

"Ah Yami and Asta? Glad you're hear let's get down to business Julius said.

"Yeah I brought the brat along so we could get a drink after Yami said.

"Couldn't you have just gone back for him after Julius asked.

"You questioning me Yami asked threateningly.

"No just stating the obvious Julius said.

Yami just nodded as he took a puff of his cigarette not noticing the sarcasm on Julius's voice.

"Anyway I've called you here to tell you we have bandits on our border near the spade kingdom don't know if they're being backed by them that's why your mission is to observe and eliminate once you have enough information Vangence is on a mission right now but he'll meet up with when he gets back Julius said.
