What he said keeps replaying in my head and yet, nothing is sinking in.. Or maybe because I don't want to accept it?
Even though 30 minutes had gone, no one dared to speak again. We are standing next to one other, looking out at the sunset. It was usually a joyous time for us, gazing the skies together.
This night, though, hits different.
It appeared as if our connection would be gone, just like how the light of the sun slowly fades away.
"Jisoo..."
He called and looked at my direction.
"W-why?"
I responded without looking at him, but he is visible in my peripheral view.
"You haven't talked in awhile."
"What I meant is, why do you have to go back too soon?"
I whispered, but it was loud enough for him to hear it. He held my shoulders carefully and leaned down to my level.
"Chi, please look at me... We both know it was gonna happen, right? We will eventually have to separate our ways. I'll be in the US, you'll be in UK. It just became one year earlier than we expected."
"You didn't answer the question. I am asking why."
I gazed at him with tears welling up in my eyes, and when he saw my tears, his gaze shifted to avoid my stares and looked down.
"I-I can't tell you.. I am sorry."
He whispered.
He can't? Well, I can't understand either. I know what he is trying to say. I am not dumb. This is not just a simple goodbye.. and that's what breaks my heart more. Because I want to at least understand what's going on. But he won't let me..
