(E sleep talks and Altyin always talks to him during it)

It was a long day.
Al had a full day of helping Cross, Nightmare and that whole crew get situated now that the fight was over, Ink was basically in the epic time out chair and all was well, all the multiverse was reset and everyone went on with their lives as if nothing happened, except the people involved.
Unfortunately, Nightmare and Dreams universe was unsaved.
Oh, did she also mention she had died for a good chunk of this mess?
It was a long, emotional day. And...
E, was already out cold.
It was the first time in a while E had actually been asleep in probably..days...he was curled up like a cat under the blanket his face barely visible. However, she knew E was very...emotionally exhausted himself. After they had a massive fight and break up and apparently from what Error told her soon after her resurrection...
He was just as bad as Cross was the day they found out what happened to her.
She shuddered at that, moving the blanket slowly as to not wake him and got comfortable under the blanket they shared and wrapped her arms around her husband.
Well...soon to be husband.
That's when the mumbling started.
"Stupid cheese"
...what?
"E?" Al asked, looking at E with a lot of concern.
"It's watching me"
Oh wait...
No way...
He hadn't done this in so long!
He was sleep talking.
Al had to keep herself together to not laugh as she pulled herself closer to him, tucking her head under his chin.
"Oh no! What will you do?"
"Imma eat him"
"Why? He didn't anything!"
"Eat him"
"But why?"
"Puzzles"
"Puzzles?"
"Cheese puzzles"
She couldn't breathe, she couldn't hold it in anymore, Al started dying laughing, waking E up with a disgruntled noise.
"Why are you laughing?" He groaned, wrapping his arms around her and looking down at her with tired eyes.
"You were sleep talking! I couldn't help it" she teased, biting her lip as he gave her a very unamused look.
"So...did you end up eating this cheese?"
"What cheese!" E asked, very worried about what he said in his sleep.
"Nothing sweetness, go back to sleep" Al, giggling still, snuggled up to E more properly. Placing a small kiss under his jaw.
E melted, this was what he missed the last couple of...who knows how long at this point, it was almost as if they were a show that just was on a very long pause and now the show was back to its regularly scheduled program. E kissed the top of Al's head and rubbed her back, knowing she loved that small affection type shit. He didn't necessarily dislike it either.
She had changed him in more ways than he ever thought possible. From a ruthless monster to a ruthless monster with a annoying yet adorable conscience.
He trusted her more than anything else in the multiverses, she was his center, his peace.
And that said peace was also still giggling to herself at whatever he had said sleep.
"Are you gonna be sleep giggling?" He teased, making her laugh harder.
"Maybe" she stuck her tongue out at him with a 'bleh' noise.
"You are truly adorable when over tired my love"
"That was soooo mushy!" Al whined a bit, but the redness in her face told a different story.
"You better expect mushy for the next forever and a day" he wasn't joking, after the emotional roller coaster he went through in the past couple weeks, plus the fact she forgave him and welcomed him with open arms after all he had done.
She better be lucky he would let her go ever.
"You have absolutely no idea what you're in for now" E still couldn't believe she was back and here, alive, in his arms. He was afraid he would wake up again, and she still be dead, and cold, nothingness...
He felt tears prick in his eyes at that thought.
"E?" Al felt the change in tone immediately.
She somehow just knew when he was distressed, happy, sad, angry.
For some fucking reason she knew everytime.
Just like...

"Why are you so mad?" Al asked, sitting next to him with curious eyes. He felt like he had a perfect poker face going on. How did she...?
Oh well might as well be honest then.
"You wouldn't even begin to understand! You're so...pacifist" he chose the words carefully, even though he was very upset at his murder spree failure, she didn't deserve to be the outlet to his anger.
"Humor me" she placed her chin on her palm and gave him to most attention he had gotten in decades.
So he rambled on and on to her about the fail of getting into horror tale and basically eradicating that disaster of a universe only to be burnt multiple times by ink and his stupid burning ink attack.
Yeah, he may be more powerful than ink, but those shots hurt like a motherfucker on pure bones.
It was basically acid.
"I see, so your anger is at yourself?" She asked, his mouth opened then closed.
How the fuck.
It made him actually more angry she could read him like a damn book...

Just like now, knowing he went from happy to tearing himself apart in a moments time.
"I shouldn't have let you go on your own..." he whispered, griping her tightly.
"You didn't know, you can't keep blaming yourself"
She felt so bad, knowing this was still bothering him.
She wished she could understand his feelings more...
However, unfortunately.
She was similar to ink in one way.
Lacking emotions.
If they were strong enough to rise to the surface then she could feel them, like her love for this crazy guy.
However..sympathy wasn't her strong suit.
Or grief.
"I think for once I actually understand what the psycho octopus meant, by loosing someone, like a light bulb blew and you were in a darkness you wouldn't fill with light even if you lit a candle"
She grimaced, was she gone that long?
It felt like a blur of time.
Maybe it was much longer for E and that's why the pain was still so raw, he had more time to grieve so I think that sense, he blamed himself more and more even with her now alive and well.
She didn't know what to do.
How to make him better.
Time maybe?
Yes time.
For now she could only squeeze him and remind him she was no longer gone.
She was right here
Always
