Kartik POV

"WHO ARE U?" As soon as these words escaped her mouth, the floor slipped from beneath my feet, I couldn't believe what she just said, I was all numb....

I was about to say something when she started panicking, she was not able to remember anything....

The doctor eyed me to stay calm and not tell her anything right now, I stepped back as my heart crushed into millions of pieces knowing that she won't recognize me anymore.

Naira POV

I opened my eyes when I saw some man standing and looking at me with concern in his eyes.

But I couldn't recognize him.... He looked at me and said 'Naira', but who's that? Is it me? Who's he? And who am I?

I noticed my surroundings, tried to recollect about myself, where I am, who I am and whatnot going on in my mind.....

I started panicking when even after many efforts I could not seem to remember anything. The doctor asked me to calm down but how could I? I mean it's not easy to not know anything about urself, not even ur name, where u are? Why u r there? What happened with u? Nothing.....

The doctor gave me an injection and so that I could have a peaceful sleep for some time, saying that I need rest. The last thing I saw before the drug showed its effect was the man beside me having a tensed expression and going out with the doctor....

Kartik POV

The doctor called me outside with him, I was already feeling numb after hearing what she said... I just couldn't accept the fact that she couldn't recall anything, all her life, all the people related to her, all our moments that we wished to cherish and reminisce all life were no more in her remembrance.

I followed the doctor to his cabin where I bombarded him with thousands of questions...

"U said that she was alright the what was that?" I asked.

"Pls relax! It happens sometimes and I told u that she had an injury on her head, maybe due to that she has lost her memory." He finally concluded.

"But what now? Will she never be able to recollect anything?" I asked with a shaking voice on the verge to cry any moment.

"We can't say anything, it might take a week, a month, a year or maybe she'll never remember anything....but pls don't lose hope, I have seen that in most cases the patient does recollect his or her past, we just need to be a little patient." He tried to give me some hope.

I sighed as there was nothing I could do.

It was neither my fault, not hers, just our fate that was to be blamed.....
