Chapter 8 - Feeling Bad

Skylar's POV

I woke up and rolled over to see that Mari wasn't there. I thought if she had gotten up because she is always first up, even though she loves sleep. Then I remembered everything from last night. God I'm such an idiot! Why did I even say that about her mom. I didn't even mean it. I swear I can be an ass sometimes. I know that her mom has been through a lot but I guess I just didn't think. Now I have to find an excuse to get my mom to drive me to theater.

I walked into the kitchen and my mom gasped. "What?" I was confused as to why she was shocked. "You're up BEFORE Mari?!" As soon as she said that I felt a pang I my chest. "Yea well she had a big night,... Oh hey mom?" "Yea?" This is it lets see if I can convince her. "Can me and Mari go on a bike ride?" I knew I couldn't risk asking her to drive me if Mari wasn't in the car so I panicked. She looked like she was thinking about it but seemed to be leaning towards no. "Please! She wants to go see the new park they built!" There was a new park down the street. It was built about 4 days ago and I have been once and it's not that bad. "Well, only if you both take your phones and promise to call when you are coming back." "Ok we will" it felt wrong lying to my mom but I have gotten pretty good at lying from just talking to people in school.

I ate breakfast, grabbed an apple and said it was for Mari. I put the apple in my bag and said bye to my mom. My mom said "bye Skylar, bye Mari" I quickly said back in the highest sing-song voice I could "byyyee-aaa" Mari did that a lot and my mom is a little tone deaf so if I sang bye like Mari then she might not notice. I was right.

I got in the garage and got out my bike. I know it takes awhile to get there but I will get her back no matter what. Plus, 5SOS were taking care of her so I will get to meet them as well. It was hard to think of them when all I could see was Mari's face when she yelled at me. She hardly ever gets mad unless someone makes fun of her or someone she loves. She defended me at times too. I guess she loved me too but I'm not sure how she feels after this.
