Mask

A beautiful mask,
Or better yet a beautiful lie.
We use it everyday,
Even if we don't notice.
When you want to cry so you smile.
When your really angry and you laugh.
Its in human nature,
A way of life.
Our life.
Some people cannot control it,
Its consumed their lives,
The way they live.
So all they can do is hide,
Behind that mask.
The mask of beautiful lies,
For all we know,
They could be in a war,
A war for control.
To show people what they really feel,
To show what really hurts,
And what really makes them smile,
But they can't.
Trapped.
Imprisoned by their own mind,
Their own realm of lies.
Chained down to their emotions,
Never to be let free,
But,
One day,
I will find a way.
To rid myself of this burden,
a burden that will be destroyed.
A curse,
That has me keep these emotions locked away.
Only for me to know,
Only for me to feel,
And one day,
One day soon,
I'll scream for the world to hear,
And know,
Deep down,
I did it.
I destroyed the chains,
Broke the mask,
But until then,
I'll silently cry,
And patiently wait,
For somebody,
Anybody,
To notice.
