The Wall

The wall that protects me from life,
Is the one that binds me tight.
If I try to climb it,
It will only end with me in fright.
I can hear the voices of those who care,
As they bang on the wall,
Just beyond the other side.
I bang on the wall that has me trapped,
As I scream even louder hoping they'll hear,
Because I want to be free of what's binding me.
Eventually the banging stops,
And I'm alone once again,
With only the noises I make the sounds I hear.
I curl up against the wall,
With my tears streaming down my face,
Sobs are racking my body,
I'm losing all hope.
That's when I hear a distant bang.
I quickly get up and follow the sound.
But it sounds like its coming from all around.
I finally locate the noise,
And out falls a brick,
A hand then appears.
I then hear a voice call out to me,
Are you okay?
Do you want to break free?
I scream a yes,
As I jump with glee.
They laugh as they continue to pull,
On nearby bricks from the wall.
I can't believe this is happening.
I'll finally be free,
Like I always dreamed.
