"Leave me alone," she growled.
"Oh you would just like that wouldn't you!? Just ignore it all, well it wouldn't be the first time!" He glared at her with brown eyes darkened with rage.
Her blue eyes filled with disbelief, "You're such a jerk! Gosh why did I ever even like you!"
He laughed, but it came out forced," Sweetie I ain't at fault here."
"Pff! Whatever helps you sleep at night!"
"Well at least I had sleep! I could imagine you not getting much with all those nightly visits you received in the past week!"
"Its much more complicated than that," she yelled with tears gathering in her eyes.
"It's not complicated at all! You just couldn't keep your fruits in the freaking basket!"
The tears in her blue eyes were on the verge of falling, "It's not like you ever cared!"
He looked at her with a look of disbelief, "Didn't care!? DIDN'T CARE!? Veronica listen to yourself for god's sake! I stuck by you when you were at your worst! I STUCK BY WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD! EVEN YOUR OWN GODDAMN PARENTS LEFT YOU IN THE DUST!"
Tears were now falling freely and her shoulders were shaking. "You didn't show it at all! What was I supposed to do!?"
He glared at her, "You could have stayed faithful! You could have done a lot of things, but this well this is unforgivable!"
"Jake, I-I just wanted to prove that I was good at something!"
"PROVE TO WHO!? HUH!? YOU ARE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THIS WHOLE SCHOOL! YOU MIGHT LIKE BEING AT ROCK BOTTOM, BUT DON'T YOU DARE COUNT ON BRINGING ME DOWN TOO! YOU ARE AN ADULT! NOW START ACTING LIKE ONE!"
"J-Jake, ple-"
"No! Enough! I've tried with you. I tried so hard t-to trust you, to h-help you!" Tears were now gathering in his own eyes and Veronica's eyes widened.
"I love you so much, did you know that? Its hurts so much to think that you have said that exact phrase to me countless times, did you ever really mean it?"
"Of course I meant it! Jake I lo-"
"Don't say it! Don't you dare say it again! Vivi, I want you to know that I want to be with you so much, but this is unhealthy for me, for you. I can't handle this anymore. I-I'm b-breaking up with you, I'm sorry."
"What!? No! Jake I know I messed up big time, but baby please don't do this! Please....don't leave me." Her blue eyes were full of regret.
"You got it all wrong here, Vi. You left me a long time ago," Jake whispered just loud enough for her to hear before he left with a soft click on the door.
Veronica stayed there with tears streaming down her face and regret shining in her eyes.

Don't Look Me in the Eye
PoetryNot just poems anymore, I guess. More like little things where I have no place for them. Basically the poems/short stories/rambles that appear in my head that I have to write down. Enjoy? Trigger warning, I think. Sorry for changing the title a lot...
