Actually I have no idea what to write here, I just need to update and I haven't written a chapter because I slept really well (eight hours!) and have been demotivated as crap. I think I'm going to go back on some stuff, as in from the first book, because that's just juicy.
Titus's death (boy from 6) first person
The sun rises above the Cornucopia and I start running. Iris holds back the careers with a flurry of knives, allowing me to get to the table and just start stuffing my face with rich, warm and well- needed food. I'll get away from here alive. I will. No matter what. Next to me, the girl from 4 pulls Iris off the table, knocking her to the ground.
"Aww. Little bunny can't get away this time," she coos, and before Iris screams my name I'm straight on her, reaching for my crescent sword.
"Run Iris!" maybe I won't leave here alive, but if it's for Iris then it's fine.
She's away, over the hill and safe.
"Not going to live this time," I snarl, lifting my sword high above my head, and swinging it down towards her neck.
"Rift! RIFT! HELP!"
He barrels onto me, freeing his little girlfriend. I smash the sword into his arm with all the strength I physically have. His blood is pooling everywhere, but that clearly isn't going to stop him. I roll on the ground and dodge through the legs of the girl from four, my sword slipping out of my hand. She lifts it high and smashes it down onto my stomach, which is the last thing I remember until everything goes dark.
Nikki's death first person
I twist behind the nearest tree, and realising that it's safe, I sneak through the trees, following Iris to the careers' camp. With a sigh, I run my finger along my forehead again, drawing to away to reveal blood.
Once again, I creep into the careers camp, this time behind Iris, staying silent as she searches for something in the wall of storage.
"Hello Iris," I say, expecting this to be the perfect moment.
"What? But... but you're dead?" the surprise and shock on her face is priceless.
"No. You never heard my cannon, you just presumed I'd died. And you never saw my face in the sky. It was supposed to be the day the District 2 and District 4 boys died, but since I wasn't dead, you saw nothing. And ever since, I've been following you. And I thought I was dead too. But I'm not, I'm alive, and I want to be your ally again." It's a long shot, but I hope it works.
"Sorry. For leaving you, for taking our stuff. I should have stayed, I should have-"
"Stop thinking about the past, you're living in the present. We have to get away, the careers are coming back,"
She nods and starts running away, towards the desert, and I follow. Iris was an awesome ally until she sold me out, four days ago, and I just wish I had killed her in that time.
"So... about the alliance..." I ask.
"Well..."
"It's yes or no, no and I'll have to kill you,"
"Not if I kill her first."
And I start running. Before Iris did, but she probably thinks that I'm just following. My legs really aren't strong enough for me to run any distance at the moment, and this will probably be the time I die. I wanted to go home, but it just wasn't possible. Now I'll die. Again.
"Iris! Help!" I scream as I fall to the ground, my legs buckling underneath me. The careers catch up, and I just accept my fate. This is how I'm going to die. They start smashing blade after blade through my skin, deep into my organs, and I just let myself die, alone in a desert.
In the last few seconds, I watch Iris turn to watch. Not to help. To watch.
And I hope she dies.
I could probably do better than this, but I'm short on time again. You may ask why I do these chapters? Because I am demotivated and haven't written anything in the main story, plus I like to see a different point of view, it helps me to understand stuff.
Message for Rose: I'm going away tmr, can you upload my chapters so I can keep my streak? Thanks, I'll send u them with an author's note when they're finished. If you don't want to/ can't then dm me and we can sort it out and I'll find a way to take my laptop with me.
