Cliff

Kamalyn pulls out a tiny, tiny knife, mostly blade, and starts tracing around my face with the blunt side. It doesn't hurt, and even if it did I probably wouldn't feel it anyway. It's not my time to die. It doesn't feel like it and I'm not ready.
Carefully I move my ankles in circles to see if I have enough space to escape. She hasn't pinned my feet down, which is a stupid mistake on her behalf.
Then a pain, so sharp and so bitter, slices into my left cheek and warm blood trickles down my face. She's taking her time. She wants me to feel like she did when Benedict died. But I guess she's got to wait for that.
I kick her hard in the back of the head.
She screeches in pain and rolls off me, leaving me enough time to get up and start running.
But she's following, and so are the careers.
I have to keep going, I have to, because even though it's very early in the morning, most of Panem will be watching.
Exhausted as I am, I keep running. The edge of the trees forms a thin line in front of me. I wonder what's on the other side. More desert? Rocks? The force field at the edge of the arena?
There's no time left for wondering, I'm already there.
A huge cliff scales one side of a giant, dark ravine. I spin around, hoping for a way out from this situation, but there's nothing.
Which would I prefer? Death by falling, or death by Kamalyn?
The careers, they're here. Standing in a circle around me, ready to kill.
"Maybe I am someone's, you know, Kamalyn,"
"Mine," she hisses.
"Nah. Only this cliff's."
A look of hate crosses her face.
"It's been a good life, and it's a shame it can't continue."
Then her face changes to shock as I throw myself off the cliff.

Short chapter sorry. I've been awake since 1am, and I just can't stay awake. And I've been crying my eyes out, but that doesn't matter.
