Right when I get home, I open the case file and start working immediately. I, one, had to get my mind off of Xavier, and two, wanted to take down these criminals as fast as possible.

"Mamma what are you working on?" Ask Maya, placing her small hands upon my desk as she stands beside me.

"A case," I say, kissing the top of her head.

"Need any help?" She asks.

"How would you bring down a huge Mafia organization?" I ask, not expecting an answer.

"Infiltrate them," she says.

I look at Maya perplexed, and confused as to how she even knew what 'infiltrate' meant.

"Xavy taught me that," she beams.

"Xavier taught you that?" I repeat.

"Yup. He also said that you should never hesitate when fighting an opponent because that one mishap could be lethal."

"Oh my god," I say under my breath.

What the hell is wrong with that dude. Who does he think he is teaching my 4 year old daughter shit like that!

"What else did he tell you Maya?" I say, trying to hide the anger in my voice.

"He also told me that you were the bestest detective in the world!" She smiles.

"He did?"

"Yeah! He also said that you were the most beautifulest person he has ever seen," giggles Maya. "I think he likes you mamma."

"Well I don't like him. He's a weirdo," I huff.

"He is not!" States Maya.

"Uh yes he is."

"No he isn't."

"Yes he is."

"No he isn't."

"Yes he is."

"We aren't getting anywhere, are we?" Says Maya.

"I think you're right," I chuckle, squishing her cheeks.

She begins to walk away, but before she goes into her room, she looks me dead in the eye and mouths 'no he isn't' before closing the door.

"Little rascal," I laugh quietly.

I then went back to the case file, re-reading it for a fourth time.

Main Suspect: Alvaro Rodriguez
Reasons: Suspected Money Laundering
                 Suspected Of Contract Killings
Suspected Leader of a Drug Cartel

The list of reasons was a whole page long! I rubbed my temples trying to figure out how this man didn't even have a single warrant out for his arrest because there was a mountain of evidence, although circumstantial, piled against him.

Ding dong.

I close the file before going up to the front door and looking through the peephole. Yes, I got a new door! When I look through it I see a grinning Xavier on the opposite side.

"What do you want?" I ask through the door.

"You," he winks.

I roll my eyes, and go back to my desk that was placed up against the window. It faced outwards so I could see Xavier slightly as he rang the doorbell for another time.

"I'm not answering it!"
