Xavier

I'm back at the den and my father is waiting outside as if he knew I got the job done. My heart warms because I know the amount of belief my father has in my skill and ability to get things done.

He opens his arms and I run into them as if I was a kid again, holding him tightly and not wanting to let go. He rubs circles into my back as I break down in his arms.

Oliver has caused my girls so much grief in their life that having him in my possession finally means that they will be free from his terror.

"I'm so proud of you, Xavier. You don't understand how many lives you have saved. You are a hero, even if you may never get the recognition you deserve."

I just nod, holding my dad even tighter. I understand my mothers pleas to not let me do this mission, but whether she likes it or not, I was the only person who could do it. It was personal and I went about it as such.

"I love you son," my dad whispers.

"I love you more."

We let go of the grasp we had on each other and his hands reach my face to wipe away the tears. He smiles softly before ruffling my hair.

"Let's finish this," he states.

"Yes father," I nod, my heart banging in its chest from the adrenaline. Nova's nightmares will be over soon.

We walk to the trunk of my car and open it to see Oliver's bashed in face. He was hanging on by a thread, the death rattles the only sound emitting from him. My father takes out his glock 43, and places it in my hand. He pats my shoulder before heading back inside the den. I look at the pathetic man and close my eyes, breathing in the brisk air around me.

"Goodbye Oliver."

His eyes widen, and a moment later a hole is put into his head. I open the car door and take out my gloves in the glove compartment. I put them on and whistle to myself, preparing myself to get rid of his body.

After an hour of finishing off Oliver and showering off all the gunk at the den, I make my way back home to my wife and daughter. I open the door to see Nova reading a book and hear the sounds of a snoring Maya coming from her room. Nova looks beautiful with her curls hanging freely and her makeup free face.

She turns her head, and smiles widely at the sight of me. Her captivating brown eyes dance across my body and I find myself blushing under her gaze. She's so fucking perfect.

"Come and sit with me. I've missed my husband."

I head over and place myself in between her legs. I go down on my knees and place my head in her lap as I hold the sides of her thick thighs in my hands. I trace hearts into her hips as she rakes her fingers through my hair.

"Have I ever told you how lucky I feel to be loved by you?" I ask.

"You tell me everyday through your actions. You make us feel so loved and safe, and you also push us beyond our comfort zone in hopes of conquering our fears. I feel lucky that I am loved by you as well," she coos, holding both her hands to the side of my face and tilting my head up to get a better view of my face.

"I am so proud of you, mama," I tell her, squeezing her thighs.

She squeals with delight. My heart flutters at the sound. I love when she's happy because that means that the paranoia she has suffered from is put on the back burner, even if it's just for a minute. When she's happy she is in the present moment, not worrying about her past actions or what the future has in store.
