TW - blood, gore

Xavier

Oliver looked at the two of us with a grin that left a bad taste in my mouth. His shoulders were relaxed as he sauntered towards us with his hands in his jean pockets. He didn't look scared, but quite the opposite. I hated his sleazy demeanour and how he looked at us with a patronizing manner.

"What do you think you guys are going to accomplish by killing off a few of my men, huh?" He asks.

"Well if you're going to be a pussy and hide behind an alias then we had to kill some of your crew to send a message, yeah?" Says Ayla with a smile that carries anything but sweet intent.

He shakes his head, his gaze now filled with annoyance. Ayla did have a knack for getting under peoples skin, and luckily today it was towards this prick and not me.

"You never know when to shut up, do you?"

Ayla doesn't give him the decency of a response before bolting at him in one swift motion. If it was any other person they would have been brought to their feet, but Oliver is a trained killer and expects this coming. He's able to counter her attack and moves back to give him enough distance between the three of us.

"Why would you do this to her? Why couldn't you have left her alone like she wanted?" I ask, my blood boiling from the anger of all this information I have learned about him. What bastard can do such a thing to the person they supposedly love?

"What don't you understand Xavier? Nova is the only one meant for me. She is my first and only love, and soon she will realise that she made a mistake with involving herself with you." He says, his tone calculating and ominous.

"What are you planning on doing?" My hands grasp around the handle of my gun firmly.

He sees this and pulls out his gun quickly, pointing it at my hands. I know he'll shoot, I just have to give him a reason to.

"I'm going to kill that brat of a daughter she has. But not until I plant the seed in her mind that Ezra, the man you two killed, had sent out a bounty for her child's death in retaliation for your guys actions." His eyes are void of any logical reasoning and my patience has just snapped. How fucking dare he threaten my daughter.

That little girl is beyond precious to me, and if he thinks that I am going to let him live after a threat like that then he has another thing coming because no one's messes with my family.

I lunge towards him with speed and power, landing a blow to his lower jaw. His gun drops and I hear a crack after the punch connects. The man comes crashing down onto the gravel path. I grab him by the collar and heave him up into the air before slamming his body back down. Loud groans escape from his lips, and I revel in them. He is about to meet a fate much worse than death.

"You don't deserve her Xavier. She is too pure for the likes of a monster like yourself. She's an angel while you are a beastly demon. You will get her killed one day and you'll have only yourself to blame." He spats, blood pooling from his mouth.

I already know she's too pure for me. Nova is my saviour. The woman who has continued to love me through all my faults. The woman who pushes me to be a better man each and everyday. She is too good for me, and that is why I will do everything in my power to keep her safe from my world of beasts and monsters. She will never be tainted by the blood of my world. Never.

"You talk too much," scowls Ayla, her eyes wide and crazed. "You think that a pathetic ill-advised boy like yourself is worthy of my princess's love? You are just a bitch boy who got lucky that Nova showed any interest in you because news flash buddy, Nova chose Xavier, not you."
