Xavier's POV:

"Do you need any help?" I ask.

"No," says father.

I expected that answer since he lets no one in the kitchen when he's in there. When father decides to cook, he's cooking for hours to make sure everything is to perfection.

"Need any help?" Asks Mother.

"Yes dear," he smiles.

Well, mother is the exception of course.

I then decided to head up to my room, and call Nova. I wanted to know what she was doing? Maybe I'd go over for a few hours to hang out with her, and Maya.

"Xavier?"

"Hey mama, are you at home right now?"

"Uh, no. I'm at my parents," she says in an annoyed voice.

"Who pissed you off?" I ask.

"No one," she lies.

"Who are you on the phone with Nov?" Asks an irritating voice.

"Xavier," she states.

"Just great," he huffs.

"Send me the address now. I'm coming over," I state.

Why the hell was this loser, Ryder, with my Nova.

"Xavier, it's not that serious," she tries to say assuringly.

"If it's not that serious then you shouldn't mind me coming over," I say.

She stays silent, as if she was contemplating if she should send the location or not. I then saw a notification on my phone and it was from Nova.

She then sent me her location. I immediately got up, and left the house letting my mother know I'll be back for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

Nova's POV:

As I watched Maya play with her cousins, my leg began to bounce since I was waiting for Xavier. I wanted him here with me since I couldn't do another hour of glares coming from my parents, and siblings.

"What the fuck is their issue," I huff.

"I don't know, but it's pissing me off," says Nico. "Do you want me to do something about it?"

"No. I don't want them getting mad at you. They pay for your tuition, so just try to stay on their good side."

"But it's not fair to you. You decided to spread your wings, and leave, so now they're mad at you since you actually succeeded without them. I mean it's bullshit. They should be proud of you."

"Well, are you proud of me?"

"Of course Kiddo," he smiles.

I was going to pinch his nose since he knows how I hate it when he calls me Kiddo, but I just give him a hug instead. I missed my little brother a lot. He has been my rock since day one so whenever I'm away from him for months on end, I sometimes feel lost.

I then heard the doorbell ring, and my heart quickened. I hope it's Xavier.

I got up from the couch, but Nico jumped up fastly, and ran to the door. He opens it, and his mouth opens slightly.

"Hi. Is Nova here?" Asks a familiar raspy voice.

"Hey that's my line," snaps Xavier.

"Um ya, uh she's here," says Nico, flusteredly.
