The buzzing of the phone against my ear tickled slightly, although I had no intentions of laughing.
“What is it?” He answered.
“She kicked me out.”
“The door is unlocked.”
The call ended abruptly, assuming he was fed up, or tired. I should’ve known he’d be awake. He was probably getting fucked up or coming down from a serious high.
Something about him resonated in my mind, a certain closeness.
I sighed.
I waited a moment before pulling the car out of park, giving myself a moment of silence.
My foot pressed against the brake, pulling the knob towards ‘D’ and pulling out of the driveway, cruising along the road.
I was exhausted and alone.
I didn’t mind being alone, but being alone meant I had to be alone.
I didn’t have a choice, whereas when there’s people, I can walk away.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to pay attention long, because Hitoshi lived two houses away, by himself. He used to have a roommate, but he moved out a year ago.
I pulled into his driveway, thankful I couldn’t see my house from the position. Well, her house now.
My body pulled itself out of the car, walking towards his door, in a hurry to go to sleep. The whole night and exhausted me even more. I wasn’t really shocked by her coming out, I was more disappointed because of the years wasted that I could’ve been doing something else, or she could be.
I felt like an experiment now, like a test.
I pushed the door open, the lamp in the back corner greeting me with its soft light.
“Morning.” He said from the couch.
“You have a bed, why are you on the couch?”
“I was gonna give you the bed.” He said, shrugging.
I nodded, for no real reason.
“Come here.” He said, patting the cushion beside him.
I sighed and sat beside him, nothing to set down beforehand.
“So, did she find out about something, or is it temporary, what?” He asked, turning to me.
I slouched into the couch.
“She’s gay.”
“Okay.” He said, nodding.
“She found out I did shit.”
“Yeah, figures.”
“Why are you up?” I asked, turning towards him, our faces inches apart.
“Couldn’t sleep.”
“You got anything on you?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.
“What are asking for?” He asked, pulling one leg up, resting his arm on it.
“Something to smoke, snort and swallow?” I said, raising a brow.
“You know something, Izuku.” He smiled gently. “I think in all these years we’ve fucked ourselves up, you’d think we’d at least fuck once.” He said.
“What does sex have to do with drugs?” I asked, confused.
“Everything.”
I raised a brow.
