twenty seven

it was the second day without hatsuki around the apartment. baji went back to his place to grab a few clothes so he could sleep over for an entire week.

aiichiro was sitting down on the couch in the living room with the cat beside her as it sleeps peacefully while her hand pats its head gently. she leans her head back and stares at the ceiling.

"its so quiet today.." she sighed but a sudden sound of rumbling was heard from the both of them. she stood up, stretching her back abit before looking at the cat. "im gonna go make some ramen, i'll prepare for you something good too, keichiro," the cat purred as if it answered her and off she went to the kitchen.

as she place the dry ramen into the hot bowl of boiling water, a knock was heard from the door and keichiro went running towards it. her lips curled up into a smile as she was expecting him to come back.

the girl quickly walks to the door and turn the knob, pushing the door open. her smile grew wider as she sees him standing infront of her, a bag filled with his clothes and a plastic bag filled with food.

"let me help you," she said but he insisted and continues carrying both bags. he placed the plastic one on the dining table and took off his other bag but he froze on the spot as he looks around.

she raised a brow as she closes the door gently. but once she knew whats going through his mind, she laughed softly. "you can put your bag next to the couch first," he nodded and place it down.

moments passed by as they were now watching a random channel that aiichiro picked. she sighs before crossing her legs and lean against the cushion. baji was sitting on the floor with his arms spread wide, landing on the couch.

"aiichiro," he said, his eyes still on the tv. she hummed as a response, turning her head to his direction. "remember that time at the train station," he continued as the girl only had her eyebrows rised up, confused as to what he was trying to say.

"you know, that day when you dropped your wallet and coins and stuff," he proceeds to try and get her to remember but all she had was a lost expression on her face.

he sighed loudly, giving up. she scratched the back of her neck. "sorry," she said, flashing a small smile at him, although he wasn't looking. the girl decided to lie down on the couch and stretches every inch of her body as she gets herself into a comfortable position.

baji turned to his left as that was where her head was. "tired?" she nodded as she turns her body so her front torso was facing the cushion, her right arm went under her head as support as she also covers almost third-quarter of her face. he chuckled softly before turning his entire body to her.

"are you going to school tomorrow?" she shook her head. they went silent for abit before he speaks again. "being in this apartment with you, makes me feel like we're married or something," he laughed as he thought what he said was stupid.

but the girl's body jumped slightly. her face turned red as she turns away slowly hiding her head into her arms. "don't talk nonsense.." she mumbled, continuing to turn red. she kept hearing him laugh at her little reaction earlier.

and then keichiro walks in and jumps on the couch. it walks onto aiichiro's back and curled up to sleep. she sighed loudly.

"lets go out tomorrow," he said. aiichiro sat up, forgetting about the cat that was sleeping on her back as it jumped away to the wooden floor. she apologized to the cat as it only walks away to some corner in the living room.

her eyes turn her gaze to him as he was drawing stars on the cushion with his finger. she smiled at his little gesture.

the next morning, aiichiro slowly opened her eyes as she stretches her arms up. she turns to the other, bringing along the pillow she kept hugging onto while sleeping.

but as soon as she was about to do so, she realised it was a little hard to turn around. her eyes looks down to her waist as it felt like there was something heavy weighing on top. it was an arm.

she swallowed a chunk of her saliva before trying to turn around again. she succeeded but was surprised when she sees his sleeping face so close to her face. her cheeks had a tint of pink.

the sleeping boy groaned as he lift his arm and wraps it around her waist again. her face starts feeling warm as he pulls her closer to himself. how did he even end up here? she asked herself while trying to figure a way out of his grasp.

at that point she just decided to lift his arm away from her body and sat up. but unfortunately, she got pushed back to lay down on her bed as his hand grabs onto her shoulder and pulls her down. that moment, her face had already turned as red as a tomato.

baji's eyes opened slowly as he lets out a morning yawn. a small smile appeared on his face as the girl beside him made his morning a nice one.

"good morning," he greeted, his voice deep and raspy from such a relaxing sleep.

"m- morning.." she said back. they went quiet for one second and the next second, she quickly sat up. "how are you on my bed?" she decided to ask as she hugs the pillow tightly.

he sit up as well, scratching his head. "i just wanted to get myself a drink," he explained, continuing the story.

while walking to the kitchen, he walk passed her room to hear her sobbing. he went closer to the door, slowing turning the knob. the door swung open a little bit but the sobs were loud enough to hear.

it was raining rather heavily, lightning striking down from one moment after another. he decides to calm her down but was immediately pulled to the bed as she held his right arm. the boy didn't move, he just decided to stay there since the sobs were softer and she seemed to be calmer.

aiichiro's face turned red, turning away from his gaze. "you seemed scared so i stayed," he ended with a smile but got a small pinch of pain from the arm.

she stood up from the bed before walking to her closet to grab a towel. "im going to shower" baji smiled before standing up on his feet. "i should go first," he said.

the both of them gave each other a challenging glare before the girl quickly walk out of the room with him catching up from behind. she was about to reach to the door and grab it but a pair of hands grabbed onto her waist and lift her up. she lets out a loud gasp.

the boy carried her, turning behind and putting her down there as he reaches the door. for when he was about to enter, she jumped onto his back. he moved back a little from the sudden weight. soon he fell to the ground, her as well.

they look at each other, bursting into laughter at their little race earlier.

baji stood up first, letting out a hand to help her get up. when they were both up from the ground, he pats her head with a wide smile on his face.

"quickly shower. we're going out today, remember?" she nodded, turning her heels to the bathroom.

he laughs softly while walking to the living room and sat down at the corner, where keichiro was napping at. he plays with the cat while waiting for his turn to take a refreshing morning shower.

the black cat meowed loudly, begging for food, as the boy only ignored and continue scratching its chin. it got annoyed from being ignored as it bit baji's finger not too roughly.

he grunted. "fine," he clicked his tongue before walking his way to another corner, where its just stuff for the cat. he pours in cat food in the bowl and the cat dash it's way towards it's food.

sooner or later, aiichiro came out of the bathroom, drying her hair with the towel. her boyfriend immediately turns his gaze to her, eyes grew a little while his cheeks turned to a tint of pink.

"aiichiro.." she looks at him, the towel hanging around her shoulders. "thats.. my shirt" he told her. her eyes grew wide as she grabs onto the hem of the shirt and looks at it, making a gasp sound.

he grinned before walking to her. "don't worry and just go get ready" he said. she nodded, handing him a clean towel for him to use.
