Niall's POV

For the rest of the night I wondered what had happened between Beth and Edward all that time ago. From what I had seen of the exchange that they had had, their relationship hadn't exactly ended on a good note. I'd have to find out about that later on.

For the rest of the evening, we had just tried to forget anything had happened previously, swapping stories of what had happened whilst we were on tour as well as whilst Beth, Josie and Tamsin were still at school. I also found myself watching the door and out the windows constantly, making sure Edward didn't come back.

Tamsin suggested we all go back to her and Harry's house to watch a film or something, and I took this as an opportunity to find out a little more about their past. Plus she couldn't stand the idea of leaving her new pony home alone for longer than a couple of hours.

Beth kept enthusing about how great the car was for the entire drive to the house and to be honest, it was nice to hear that my gifts to her were appreciated.

"How d'ya reckon Jack's doin?" She asked me, but I didn't answer immediately, as I was too deep in thought about Edward.

"Niall." She called, "Niall!"

"Yeah sorry." I mumbled, "He's fine, I'm sure."

"Are you alright?" She asked, pulling into the gravel driveway of Harry and Tamsin's house.

"Yeah, fine." I sighed, "I'm just worried about the new album, I guess."

She just smiled, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek in reassurance.

"Aw, it'll be okay." She smiled, stepping out of the car before turning around and leaning back down to look at me through the car. "Come on, the others are already here."

I smiled back, getting out as well and grinned in happiness when I saw Tamsin and Beth hugging at the front door. I walked up to the door and hugged her as well, watching as Beth disappeared into the living room on the far right side of the corridor. Satisfied that she was out of ear shot, I spoke to Tamsin in a hushed tone ["Hushed tones, Lionel. Hushed. Tones." XD Anyone who gets that, well done.]

"Can you explain what happened between Edward and Beth to me, please?" I asked, looking over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't nearby.

Now it was Tamsin's turn to look around. She turned and leant back to peer into the living room.

"Later." She nodded, "For now, just join the others. It'll be a bit weird if we take too long out here."

I nodded quickly, walking past her after she moved out of the way to allow me past before closing the door. I heard the tail end of their conversation as I walked in.

"...honestly, I would have taken a swig at that dickhead if we weren't in such a public place. You never know where you'd find cameras nowadays."

"It would have been great if you did." Beth said as I sat next to her, "However, I think what we should focus on is that punch." She flexed her hand as she spoke, as if it was still sore from earlier.

"It was brilliant." Tamsin laughed, laying down across Harry's lap, "I swear to god I would have gone full Assassin's Creed on that-"

Harry gave her a stern look, making her stop abruptly before she continued.

"Bumhole." She huffed, making Harry chuckle.

"So," Louis said, walking in with two bowls of cheesy doritos, "Film?"

"Which one?" Josie asked, already filing through the DVDs lined up on the shelf near the TV.

Louis put the bowls on the table, bending over in the process. Tamsin and Harry were both looking intently, before she rolled over and held up 7 fingers and mouthing something to him. Harry quickly shook his head, looked at Louis again, before holding up 8, and mouthing something else back. They both giggled, and Beth seemed to have picked up on it too. Well I'm lost.
