7. Fun and Games

Beth's POV

We stayed there for a few more minutes, talking about small pointless things, as I dipped my feet in the pool and swirled the water around. A few fish swam around just under the surface, occasionally gulping for air before diving back down and disappearing beneath the misty water.

I felt Niall's hand on my shoulder as he joined me, having left his guitar back on the rug.

"What'd you want to do now?" He mumbled, still looking happy with himself after his performance.

"We should probably get back to the others, before they come looking for us." I smiled half heartedly, I didn't want to leave.

"Yeah, I think you're right." He got himself up, helping me up afterwards. "Let's go then."

He lead me by my waist, parting the vines again as we crept out, replacing the vines back over the entrance.

"Let's keep this place our little secret." I winked, looking back into it briefly, taking a last look before we left.

"Sure, princess." He smiled, as he carried on walking us back.

The second we came out of the woods, I heard a shout,

"I FOUND THEM!" Josie shouted, running over as she was followed by the other boys and Tamsin.

"Where were you?" She said, looking flustered, "I was worried Niall had kidnapped you!"

"But would that really be so bad?" Tamsin muttered, not so discreetly.

"Not if you were stuck with me." Harry smirked,

"Don't get too cocky now, Styles." She slapped his arm playfully.

"We were just in the woods having a little wander around." I said simply,

"We just came to find you so we could do something together." Liam said,

"Like what?" I asked,

"The lake!" Louis suddenly shouted, "Follow me, peasants!"

He took off running down the hill, tripping over near the bottom and ended up rolling the rest of the way. Whilst everyone was laughing, Josie and Zayn had started running, have a race to see who could get there first, being followed by Tamsin and Harry doing the same.

Just as I was about to start running, Niall grabbed my arm,

"Want a piggyback ride?" He laughed, crouching down so I can get on.

"Let's go." I said, swiftly jumping on his back as he held onto my legs.

He raced down the hill with me on his back, surprisingly, he didn't fall over. He walked over to the others where he tried to put me down, but I refused.

"It's comfy up here." He murmured, resting my head on his shoulder,

"Alrighty then." He chuckled, "you can stay up if you want."

"Hmmm." I hummed in his ear as I relaxed, closing my eyes slightly.

"Oh Bethany..." I heard Louis coo from in front of me, "that's a nice lake there don't you think..."

"Yeah I guess..." I mumbled, still a bit unsure of where he was going with this,

"Would you like to swim in it?" He was grinning deviously,

"Yeah, but I can't," I sighed, "haven't got my stuff."

"Oh but you can..." I heard Niall say, as he moved across the stones by the waters edge.

My eyes sprung open when I heard the sound of water, specifically the sound of someone walking through it. When I looked down, I saw that Niall wasn't wearing any sock or shoes, and was wading into the water. He stopped as the water was just below me, and he laughed evilly.

"Oh, how easy it would be to just drop you in the water..." He said, "I could just fall back..."

"If you dare..." I warned, gripping onto him tighter.

"Oh no!" He said sarcastically, "my arms seem to be getting tired..."

"Niall...." I said, tightening the grip I had on him with my legs.

"Oh how I can't take it anymore...oh..." He sighed,

Suddenly, I was in the water. Cold, murky, water. And bare in mind that we're all fully clothed. When I came up for air, Niall was laughing hysterically, along with everyone else on the bank. I smirked evilly at Niall, making him stop laughing, and suddenly look really worried,

"Wheres you luck of the Irish now, Horan?" I said, creeping closer to him,

"Huh?" He looked really scared now, oh he should be.

I jumped from the water and leapt onto his back, dragging him back down into the water with me. As he looked and me, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. His hair had been draped over his face thanks to it being wet, and his clothes stuck to his skin, making them slightly see through, and enhancing his abs.

"WOOHOO!!" I heard Louis shout from behind me, and as I turned around, I saw him swinging off a rope attached to a tree and into the water.

He hit the water with a massive 'splash', and when he resurfaced, he flicked his fringe out of his face and burst out laughing.

"NO NO NO NO NO!!" Josie screamed as Zayn picked her up and jumped in the water with her desperately clinging onto him.

"Race ya, Styles." Tamsin challenged,

"Your on, James." Harry smirked, as they both suddenly took of towards the water.

Harry aimed for the bank that Niall had walked in on, however, Tamsin went a bit to the side and dived off the corner to get in first.

"That's not fair!" Harry pouted, "I didn't know we could do that."

"Sucks to be you." She laughed, splashing him with water.

For a while we just kept playing in the lake, occasionally stopping to swim around or have a chat. After about half an hour, we all got out, and sun bathed on the grass of the hillside.
