Beth's POV

Soon we were driving to the house that Niall had bought for us, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited. Just the thought of living alone with Niall was enough to give me a happiness high for the rest of the day.

"I've already bought some furniture, so that'll be coming soon." Niall began, "Whilst we're waiting we can paint the walls or do wallpaper and stuff like that."

"Sounds good, what kind of colours are you thinking we should use?" I asked, still trying to contain my excitement.

"Bluey green, perhaps." He shrugged, "I don't really know, whatever floats your boat."

"Yeah, blue or green for bedrooms, what about living room, kitchen, bathroom...?"

"Well, I think a creamy colour for the living room, maybe another shade of blue for the bathroom, I don't mind, it's up to you really."

"Don't give me choice!" I laughed, "I don't know what to do!"

"I'll trust your judgement." He smiled, pulling the car into the gravel driveway of what must have been our house.

It was a lovely cottage-like building, with flowers hanging in baskets hanging by the windows. The walls were cream coloured, and it was topped off by a grey slated roof.

"It's lovely." I smiled, hugging Niall's side, making him smile.

"Glad you like it, I thought you might." You could hear his happiness in his smile. "Would you like to go in?"

"Hell yeah!" I laughed, running in front of him to the door like a child.

He chuckled, fishing the key out of his pocket, quickly unlocking the door and throwing the door open to reveal the inside. The floor was wooden, giving the whole of the inside an oaky smell. Immediately in front of the door were the stairs, which were covered with soft cream carpet.

Niall walked me upstairs and to what seemed to be the bedroom, judging by its size. The floor was covered with old sheets and there was a selection of paint pots lined up.

"Here's your selection." Niall said, gesturing towards them. "I chose these so don't worry if you think I won't like the colour you choose."

They were all different shades of blue and green, starting off with a dark blue and gradually getting greener to end in dark green. I thought I'd go for the middle to get the best of both as it were.

"This one." I said bending down to pick up a pot of coloured paint.

I struggled to hold up the one I wanted, making Niall laugh as he took it off me seemingly effortlessly.

"Well, I see how it is." I laughed turning around to fetch the rollers and paintbrushes.

"You need a big strong man around," He chuckled, prying it open with a screwdriver. "You'd never manage on your own."

"Hey! I'm capable!" I protested.

"Oh yeah? Open this for me." He said, handing me the screwdriver.

"Fine." I grinned evilly, taking it off him.

I quickly manage to flick the lid off, smirking at his surprised expression.

"Point proven." He said, taking the lid and screwdriver off me and throwing them on the floor. "But you still need me though."

"Can't deny that." I giggled as he kissed me on the nose.

"Well we should get started then shouldn't we?" Niall smiled, and pointed over to a bag in the corner, "I brought some old shirts of mine and some shorts for you to wear so you don't get paint on your clothes."

"Thanks." I said, sifting through for a shirt that I liked.

I found a red shirt amongst the pile, and recognised it as the one he wore in the 'Live While We're Young' video. Underneath the other things, I found some old jean shorts and pulled them out before going into the bathroom to change.

When I came out, I saw Niall had also changed, wearing just shorts and nothing else.

"Alright then, I think I'm going to enjoy this more than I should." I said, crossing my arms and scanning him up and down.

"Me too," He smirked, "You look good in my shirt."

"Shall we start?"

"Oh. Yeah. Right..."

---

For most of the time, we worked well until Niall thought it would be fun to flick some paint at me. That's when it all kicked off. He tackled me to the floor trying to get paint all over me, but I quickly managed to flip us back over again. This continued for a while until we got tired.

I ended up with a line of paint going down from the left side of my jaw all the way down my neck, and Niall had one going along his arm and down his nose. He was just about to paint a bit of my hair before I suddenly stopped moving and glared at him which told him 'if you touch my hair I swear it'll be the last thing you touch'. He seemed to get the message and dropped the brush.

"Good boy." I smirked, patting his head like a dog before getting off him.

He shook his head like a dog, flicking his hair everywhere before he rearranged it and crossed his arms.

"So we've painted the whole of the upstairs?" I asked,

"Yeah, we just need to do the living room now, but we can do that tomorrow." He smiled, putting the brushes and stuff away.

"Ok cool, I'll go get changed."

"You know we have a TV here?" He called after me.

"So?" I laughed,

"Film and pizza night?"

"Let's do it."
