Wish I hadn't gone there
Wish I hadn't done that
Oh well
The past is there
Lying on your back
Staring and the shifting sky
The light twisting
Staring off at a point no one else can see
Broken off from what everything tried to force on me
But maybe their ideas still found their way in
Poisoning you from the inside out
The shadows have dulled
The sparks are back
Time to turn back
From the world you used to know
To the one I know call my own
Conversing with people I've never met
At ease in a way I'd never felt before
You can put on a mask
You can cover your face
And your thoughts
All those motions slipping away,
Silently
Counting away the time you've spent
Desire underneath
You can still feel it
I know you can
Exhale
Look out behind the stars
See how the moon shines so bright?
I'll drop my anchor
Found myself here
Might as well stay the night
A thousand city light burning so bright
They can try but they can't disguise
The passion the fury
Start, start
Don't finish
That's okay that's okay
There'll be other days
Shh now
Feel the whispering breeze
All the heavens might burst and
Maybe I'll see things in a new light
Maybe so
Anything possible in the middle of the night
Darkened and dreaming
For a moment everything floats away
I won't detach completely-
But I still find myself pulled in a thousand different directions it seems
"Look here!" Everyone yells
Where? Why?
Why should I?
I'll pull up my hood and walk straight through
The answers are scattered somewhere
So are the memories
Some of them I'll pick up
Some of them I won't
But the future feels more free
And this heart seems truer
So if there's a way
Maybe I'm close
Closer than I thought
Trying to survive
That's it
Who could fault you for that?
Healing takes time but you have the strength to recover
Even if everything isn't on your side,
Enough is
That it's worth making it though to the end
