The view from the shadows
You spent so long inside
Was bound to skew your reality
But I see your face
I see the ones I knew
But not quite
Do you see me?
Do you notice what I notice?
I've been here before
I've done this before
So can you blame me for still feeling
Just a bit numb inside?
Time and time again
Maybe this time
Things will be different
I'll try to believe but
But try not to get my hopes up too much
Just in case they get dashed
