𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧

Nike was walking home after work. That night had been particularly fruitful. The firebender had been able to get her hands in some interesting information regarding Future Industries and the Equalists. She had to share that information with Lin as soon as possible, which meant, she had to commit another inoffensive crime.

The next day, three police officers knocked at her door.

'Nike, you're under arrest for setting an abandoned building on fire last night,' one of them said while the other two cuffed the female.

Everything was going according to plan until they arrived at the interrogation room where Nike learned chief Beifong wasn't at the station. At first, she didn't worry too much about it, but then, she panicked. Lin Beifong had resigned her position as chief, giving her place to Saikhan.

Saikhan hated Nike. He saw her as an outlaw and never liked the fact she was always getting away with everything she did which meant she wasn't going to leave prison this time.

While Nike was in prison, Lin was still recovering from her last fight before resigning her position as chief. She had gone to Sato's estate along with her men, Korra, Tenzin, Mako and Bolin to confirm if the information given to the Avatar by one of Hiroshi's workers was true and if there was an Equalists' factory underneath Asami's house. Unfortunately, the information given by the worker was correct and the benders got involved in an ugly fight with Hiroshi and some Equalists.

The former chief of the police wasn't planning on leaving the bed until fully recovered. However, when she heard the Avatar had been captured by Equalists, she couldn't stay resting and decided it was time to act.

The metalbender left home and went to the police headquarters where Asami, Bolin and Mako were imprisoned due to a conflict in the Dragon Flats borough. They stood against Tarrlok who had cut the power to that neighbourhood because those who lived there were nonbenders.

'Hope you got enough beauty rest,' Lin spoke to Asami after metalbending her sell's door. 'Come on, I'm busting you out!'

The young woman thanked the bender and left to get Bolin and Mako. The two lovers were happy to see each other again, but there was no time for reunions.

'Hate to break up your lovers' reunion, but Korra's in trouble. Amon captured her,' Lin informed in a serious tone.

'No. No, she can't be gone!' a worried Mako spoke.

'Come on,' the lady said, and the young adults left the cell and began heading to the exit of the corridor. 'Wait. We have to rescue someone first.'

They just followed Beifong down the halls of the prison. They were heading to the solitary wing and once there, they went to the end of the wall. There was a cell there. Lin metalbended its door and threw it away.

Mako's eyes widen when he saw who was inside. It was Nike. Her wrists and ankles were chained to the wall forcing her arms and legs open, and she had a metal mask covering her mouth. The firebender had her head down. Her hair was covering her face, but it was clear she hadn't been treated in the greatest way.

'Nike!' Mako exclaimed and hurried to the female.

She slowly lifted her head to see who had called. Her eyes shone for a moment when they met Mako's tangerine orbs making the male smile inside.

'Let's get you out of here,' Lin spoke and metalbended the chains and the mask imprisoning Nike.

The black-haired bender fell to the ground right after being freed. Fortunately, Mako caught her before she hit the floor.

'Who put you in this cell!?' Beifong demanded to know.

'Saikhan,' Nike replied as Mako helped her get on her feet. 'But it was Tarrlok's idea.'
