Nike left her home and headed to Lin's house. They were going to have lunch together since Lin would be working at the time of the Catgators match.

The firebender walked the streets of the fancier part of the city calmly. She was a bit early, and she didn't want to wait for Beifong to return from work, so she slowed her pace a little. When she was almost at the chief of police's house, someone called her name. The black-haired girl turned around to see Dane on the other side of the road.

The waterbender crossed the street and walked to the female that was still standing there a little shocked. What were the possibilities of Dane being there at the same time as her?

'Nike, I wasn't expecting to see you here!' the male said with a big smile.

'Well, same,' the firebender replied with a little bit of irony in her words.

'So... What brings you here?' a curious Dane asked.

'A friend and I are going to have lunch together,' she explained.

'That's nice!' the male smiled. 'Are you ready for tonight's match?'

'Of course, I am,' Nike showed her cocky side. 'The only difficult part is controlling myself not to conjure blue flames.'

Dane chuckled, 'you're a little cocky, aren't you?'

'Just a little,' she replied.

After those words, Nike heard someone calling her name. She turned round to find Lin walking to her.

'Well, gotta go,' she said.

'Wait, Lin Beifong is your friend?' Dane asked surprised.

'Yes,' Nike confirmed and walked away in Lin's direction.

The two benders had lunch in Lin's place. They talked about the pro-bending tournament most of the time.

'Mako told me you are having trouble with the murder of two equalists,' Nike changed the conversation topic. 'How's that going?'

Lin was a little surprised that the firebender addressed that theme, but she replied.

'Some specialists from the Fire Nation have come to analyze the bodies and see what else they can find,' she explained. 'But I doubt we'll have any answers. Meanwhile, we are still searching for Amon.'

Nike only nodded and continued eating. She only wanted to make sure the police still had nothing about the equalists case.

'I heard things at the Southern Water Tribe are getting chaotic,' the firebender commented. 'Have you heard anything from Mako and the others?'

'No,' Lin spoke clearly worried about the Avatar team. 'I think a civil war is coming...'

The rest of the meal was spent talking about much lighter and funnier things including Nike's match that evening. The firebender was confident her team was going to win.

However, the Red Sands Rabaroos proved to be an even tougher opponent that she had expected. They won the first round, making Nike and the Catgators' fans worried.

'And the Red Sands Rabaroos are winning, folks! Will this be the end of the Catgators?' Shiro asked the radio listeners as he observed the pro benders as the second round began.

Shira wasn't the only one paying close attention to the match. In the VIP boots, the Frozen Tundra Tiger Sharks were all watching the game as well. Dane was particulary interested in the Catgators' firebender.

'Shouldn't you be more focused on the team's waterbender?' Zeno, the Tiger Sharks' earthbender teased his captain.

'He isn't so pretty,' the team's firebender joined his friend.
