Starstruck

On the days that followed, Seth and Stefon rehearsed together alongside the other cast members.

As Saturday came, John asked the cast members to prepare for the episode's taping. Seth asked Stefon, "Are you ready to let America know who you are, Stefon?" Stefon sighed in nervousness and replied, "Ready as I'll ever be, Seth Meyers... I hope I am."

A few minutes pass, and John started rolling for the night's episode.

As the show went on a commercial break, Ben Affleck, another cast member, approached Stefon, tapped his shoulder, and asked, "Are you nervous, Stefon?" Stefon replied, "Um, I'm a little bit nervous, Mr. Affleck, but I know we'll do great together."

Ben smiled.

He then told Stefon, "You know, Stefon, I know how it feels to be intimidated in appearing on some TV show with lots of celebrities. I actually heard really interesting things from Jimmy Fallon when he was asked to appear in your audition that day."

Stefon got curious.

He then asked, "What did he say about me?" All of a sudden, John called both of them and said, "You guys, your sketch is next." Ben told Stefon, "You can do this." Stefon gave a weak smile, nodded, and replied, "I hope I don't make a fool out of myself."

As the cameras rolled again, Ben and Stefon acted out their sketch.

When the rest of the episode was aired, John cut the cameras, gave everyone a round of applause, and said, "Good job tonight, guys. I'll see y'all again next week." Every cast member went back to their houses after changing back to their work clothes.

Seth and Stefon arrived to the former's house a couple of minutes later.

Then, Stefon said, "I can't believe I just introduced myself on the show to America, Seth Meyers." Seth smiled at him and replied, "You sure did, buddy." Stefon suddenly blurted out, "Stefon just hopes that every American liked seeing him on their TVs."

Seth gently tapped Stefon's shoulder.

He told him, "I'm sure America's gonna warm up to you in no time, Stefon." Stefon asked, "Was it noticeable that I was nervous during my sketch with Mr. Ben?" Seth replied, "Don't worry about it, Stefon. You'll eventually get used to working with celebrities."

Seth cooked dinner for both Stefon and him after their short conversation.

A few days pass, and Stefon woke up early. As he got up from Seth's bed, he suddenly heard his phone vibrating on the table beside him. Stefon got confused, so he thought, "Who could this be? This is the first time Stefon had someone text or call him this early."

So, he slowly got up from the bed.

As he opened his phone, Stefon noticed that John sent him a text. He thought to himself, "Did I do something bad? Was it really noticeable that I was intimidated during my sketch with Mr. Affleck?" He proceeded to tap on the Messages app on his phone.

Stefon proceeded to read John's text afterwards.

John told him:

"hello, Stefon. John here. I just received the ratings of the episode a few days ago, and they're really high. but I do want to see you in my office. I noticed how you performed on the previous Saturday's episode, and I want to talk to you about that TODAY."

Stefon gulped nervously.

He thought to himself, "I was right about my hunch. I'm hoping that John isn't mad at me about that sketch with Mr. Affleck. I really tried pulling my shit together." But all of a sudden, Stefon had a gut feeling and thought, "What if it's not about my sketch that night?"

Stefon breathed in and out to calm himself down.

As soon as he calmed down, Stefon got up from Seth's bed and went downstairs to take a bath. When he finished, Stefon toasted some bread, made himself a cup of coffee, and ate his breakfast. Stefon made his way to the show's studio a few moments later.

Stefon proceeded to walk his way to John's office.

When he appeared on John's window, John motioned for him to come inside. As Stefon went inside, he said, "Stefon understands that John was looking for him today, so he came as soon as he could." John smiled, nodded, and replied, "Take a seat."

Stefon sat down on a chair in front of John's table after that.

John then said, "I bet you're wondering why I called you in here today, Stefon." Stefon gulped and replied, "Well, um... Stefon's kinda nervous. He doesn't really know what's going on, but Stefon feels like he wasn't called to John's office today for a good reason."

John stared at Stefon for a few seconds.
