"I don't know how I didn't realize my uniform changed colours sooner," (Y/n) mumbled, looking down at her blue blazer (with a Ravenclaw logo), her black silk button-up, her plaid blue skirt, and the blue tie in her hand.

"Kinda hard to miss something like that," Cho laughed. She had the same uniform as (Y/n), only rather than black Mary Jane's, she had them in brown. Marietta had plain black tennis shoes, for she preferred comfort over matching with the formalness of their uniform. (Y/n) had white over-the-knee socks, Cho had navy-blue, light-blue, and white argyle socks, and Marietta had stockings. (Y/n) added rhine-stone dangling earrings to her outfit and Marietta added a headband.

"Do either of you know where the owlery is?" (Y/n) asked.

"No..." Cho said apologetically. "But a prefect or the Head Girl will take you!" she quickly added. (Y/n) grimaced.

"They're scary."

"But they're really nice!"

"They intimidate me." Cho and Marietta shared a glance as (Y/n) grabbed her letter from her desk. She then tucked it into her school bag. "We have the same classes today, right?"

"Yeah, until third year when we're allowed to pick electives," Marietta answers, striding up. She linked her arm with (Y/n) and Cho did the same on the opposite side. (Y/n) eyed them curiously as they began pulling her to their door. She shrugged, allowing them to do so. After closing their door, they went downstairs and to their common room, and then (Y/n) caught on.

"No, no, no, no," she rapidly shook her head, fighting against their pull.

"Come on! They aren't that scary!" Cho said.

"They're intimidating, Cho—"

"Who?" Their boy prefect pipes up, for the three were eyeing the first years in amusement.

"No one," (Y/n) immediately answered. Cho subtly motioned to the three in front of them.

"(Y/n) has something to ask!" Marietta blurts. (Y/n) grimaced.

"We're listening," Kyra mused.

"I— um— where'stheowlery?" (Y/n) asked quickly. The group blinked.

"I caught 'owlery...'" said Blair. "C'mon, I'll show you."

"Good luck," Cho whispered gently pushing (Y/n) in the Head Girl's direction. Blair placed her hand on (Y/n)'s head, leading her out of the common room. She led her along the floor their common room was and then down the same path they had to take to the great hall. They proceeded on to the entry hall and took a staircase to their right.

"I think maps should be provided for those who request it," (Y/n) mumbled.

"Definitely," Blair agrees. "Even in my seventh year, I don't know the entirety of the castle and still get lost." They took a partial left then went straight and under a tunnel when they came out, there was a prism tower with a winding staircase around it. "Here we are. There are easier ways, but I'm going off places you already know how to get to." Blair accompanied (Y/n) up the staircase and into the owlery, for she too had a letter to send. The two jumped as someone came out of the opening.

"Oh! Hi, (Y/n)," Katie greeted. She wore a red version of (Y/n)'s uniform with a Gryffindor logo. She had a yellow pair of Converse. Her wand was tucked behind her ear. She pressed herself against the marble railing as Blair and (Y/n) passed into the owlery.

"Hi, Katie. How's settling in going?" (Y/n) asked as Katie walked along with her.

"Decent," Katie answers. "Quite boring rooms they give us, no? Very dark, I should say. A lot of curtains and drapes." The curtains in Cho, Marietta, and (Y/n)'s dorm were chiffon, thus making them pretty clear and sunny. And their dorm was nowhere near dark.
