"Any idea where Penny could be? That's what we—" Blair motioned to herself and (Y/n) "—originally set out for.""Oh! She's tutoring someone today!" Ben answered. "The Hufflepuffs new seeker, I believe. I don't know his name."
"So... library? Hufflepuff Common Room? Somewhere else?" Merula listed off.
"We'll start in the library," Blair declared. "Come, my children!" She took both Merula and Ben's hands before skipping off with them, leaving Adrian and (Y/n) to trail behind. The two would occasionally side-eye one another before immediately looking away if they made eye contact. They strode through the library, searching for Penny Haywood.
"There," Ben said, pointing at a table where a blonde stood behind the sitting brunet, pointing at something in his textbook. Across from them sat a pink-haired person with their arms folded on the table and their chin resting on their arms. "Oh, and Tonks too."
The blonde suddenly looked up and a bright smile lit her face up. "Blair! Merula! Ben!" she greets. The pink-haired person whirled around before matching the blonde's smile.
"Our favourite people!" the other greeted.
"Hi, (Y/n)," Cedric said pleasantly before returning to his work.
"Hi, Cedric," (Y/n) answered, looking around the library. The two looked right back at each other upon realizing.
"What're you doing here?" he asked.
"I'm looking for a Penny Haywood," she answered.
"How crazy! I'm looking for Penny! Well, I was. But I've found her now," Cedric informed.
"That's me!" the blonde chirped, wiggling her fingers at (Y/n).
"And that's Tonks," Blair added, pointing at the pink-haired person. "They're dating Penny." Tonks waved. "Penny, (Y/n) here wants some help in Potions." Penny's smile seemed to somehow grow.
"You came to the right person! Come, take a seat. You can join Cedric," Penny instructs.
"That's it?" Adrian murmured. "Why did I need to come?"
"You came because you're failing Potions," Merula answered. "Do you know how bad it looks when a Slytherin— a Chaser, at that— is failing Potions? A class already biased towards Slytherins? I— nor Professor Snape— can have you playing for us if you don't put in effort towards your classes. You've gotta be passing with a seventy percent at the very least." Adrian groaned.
"Snyde stepping up, I see," Tonks teased. Merula stuck her tongue out in their direction. Tonks replied with the same action.
"Hufflepuff, I hope you don't mind adding a third," Merula addressed Penny.
"Of course I don't." Penny waved her hand. "The more the merrier!"
"Yeah, you would say that." Merula narrowed her eyes at Penny. "Anyways, we'll see you guys later, hopefully introduce you to the rest of your family, you know, the whole ordeal."
"We're still on that?" Adrian muttered.
"And we will stay on it," Blair mused.
Penny gasped. "Are we finally adopting first years?"
"You've been adopting first years, Pen," Tonks answered.
"And? I can take more!"
"I'm not a first-year," Adrian objected.
"Nor I!" Cedric chimed.
"Eh, second years. Close enough." Merula waved her hand. Both Cedric and Adrian made faces of offence. (Y/n) tried not to grin.
